18-year-old Tottenham midfielder John Bostock has joined Hull City for a season-long loan deal.

Bostock impressed during England's campaign at the recent European Under-19 Championships and now he will boost Hull City ahead of the start of the Championship season which kicks off this weekend. He has already begun training with his Tigers team-mates.

The young midfielder burst onto the scene as a 15 year-old making his first-team debut at Crystal Palace. Having moved to Tottenham in 2008, he became the youngest ever Spurs player, coming on as a substitute against Dinamo Zagreb.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp sent him on loan to gain important first team experience last season at Brentford. However, Redknapp was less than happy with Bostock's attitude at Griffin Park with the Bees declining the offer to extend Bostock's one-month loan period.

Hull City will hope that Bostock can play a more positive role for Nigel Pearson's side following Premier League relegation last season, while Redknapp will hope that he will return able to make an impact at Tottenham.

Ah, feel sorry for the lad.

Even if it does his career the world of good, it still means he'll have to spend a year in Hull

Man, hard to believe he's still only 18! I think, depending on how many games he plays, this could be a very good move for him (and us) - playing in the Championship, against tougher teams, will only improve him.
