Jol was hung by the Board, drawn by the Press and quartered by a small portion of the supporters.
I am not saying he didn't deserve to go because that will always be the subject of sore debate. Its the way the whole thing was handled by the Board that gets my goat and the ongoing shambles that hovers over White Hart Shame. We have become a laughing stock again. It reminds me again of Keith Burkinshaw's comment when he left that 'this used to be a Football Club'
I now have no confidence in Levy or the two faced Board members that started this saga in August and finally cut the cord last night. The BBC broke the story of Jol's departure 5 minutes before the end of the game but the Official Spurs Site only announced it around 23.30.So much for keeping us in the picture.
Jol deserved better. He got Levy's neck out of the noose when Santini jumped ship, picked us off the floor and gave us back our club and pride for two seasons.
He deserved some loyalty from the Board for this alone and not to have the indignity of the British Press reporting meetings with Ramos behind his back. I think this really unsettled the Club and the performances to the start of the season.
I have never doubted Jol's ability but felt he needed to bring in new Coaches in at 1st Team level to freshen things up.
Jol maintained his dignity to the end and so did the majority of the supporters.
I wish him well for the future but fear we have moved backwards as a Club and the Board needs to reinstill our confidence levels.
