oh, just have to love TS, don't you? Nothing in principle wrong with his statement, but 'much of a muchness' reeks of negativity when a seasoned manager would've given it a much more positive slant.

i have been up to now laying off tim but this is the limit
when you have players that would be ist team starters;that are injuured for almost half a season ;such as lamela ;capoue;kaboul and then important players injured either now such as walker;vertonghan;soldado
others that were layed off at the time they were needed most such as paulino ;dawson;dembele
i find with this statement alone it has got to be to the clubs and fans benefit to get a new manager as quickly as possible

Why Tim... why do you feel the need to say things like this? Statements and stories like this, out in public, don't help us as a club. Far too similar to Harry's style if you ask me.This just magnifies the fact you should never have been employed as manager/head coach/whatever.

Now I can't wait for the season to end rather than look forward to every game.

He's right about having too many middling and similar midfielders. Eriksen stands out, the rest have been mediocre. Dembele and paulinho havent distinguished themselves, even Sandro appears unable to manage his body and is a square passer if ever there was one. And any one citing vertonghen and sick note as stand out players are really having a laugh.

I truelly hope whoever takes over from this lumberjack develops a starting 11 and sticks with them, making minor changes as we go along. Since AVB every starting 11 has been a bit of a lottery?? We need stability and consistency badly.

I don't think any of them are 'mediocre' - they're all very good footballers - but what Sherwood is saying, in his inimitable Sherwoodese, is that we don't have Gareth Bale or Luka Modric anymore, nor anyone like them.

It's broadly what I've been writing here all season, which is that we have an extremely deep squad of very good players, but no one really exceptional who can kick the team to life and/or conjure up a winning situation on his own.

Lloris and Eriksen are close to the 'exceptional' level and Adebayor can be unplayable on his day, but other than those three...

The man has brains smaller than a chimp. The guy should be relieved before he can do anymore damage. What does having this moron in charge for half a year tell our players.

We have a team of mercanries and he believes he does not need to motivate them or treat them with any respect.

Please Daniel Levy be careful with the next appointment because you keep signing managers who are all talk and no action.

Have another go at the players Tim. Destroy their confidence even more. After all, they are not important are they. We can do without them in the cosy little world of Tim Sherwood.
Please Daniel, get rid of this fool before he can do any more damage. Sherwood OUT! ASAP. Let my dog (see picture) do the press conferences. He talks more sense than Sherwood.

I do sympathise with Derwood to a certain degree with the epic, revolving-door-style injuries etc, and generally being thrown into the deep end by Levy to drown. However he does himself no favours whatsoever with his regular Harry-esk, half witted comments to the media.

With nothing left to play for (sod the Europa joke), I would just sack him now and write off the rest of the season. He's an embarrassment to himself, the club and the fans as far as I am concerned.

Roll on the nice, healthy distraction of the World Cup I say! It's all about next season...

Not the best choice of words as ever, but you can see his point. We do have a large squad of very good players, and many of similar style and position, but there's no superstar. Arguably a more healthy place to be although it doesn't feel like it at the moment. Watching Bales winner midweek I'm sure made us all feel a bit sick...

another day another tornado of tripe from deadwood. seriously, we could have still been in the mix for top four If he'd have motivated the team instead of slating them since we played Chelsea. get rid.

I totally agree with most of the responses to the article. However it would be nice if people could respond and disagree without getting personal. Are these type of responses any different to Tim's "much of a muchness" comment i.e. lacking in any forethought.

Personally, I think a lot of the comments that Tim has made recently show that he knows his time is up. He should really know his best 11 by now, even if injuries are actually robbing him of those players. I certainly know my best 11, for the teams I run, and depending on the formation that will vary.

Tim has a lot to learn about what to say and when to say it.

PS. I also disagree with comments of the players not playing for him and him not being able to motivate them. We certainly would not have come back from some of the deficits we have done, under AVB...and before people say we would not have been in that position in the first place, I am sure some early season results showed we were in that position.
