Can’t believe anyone honestly thinks it’s not completely reprehensible to sing a song wishing death upon someone because they went and played football for another team.

He is a massive ****, yes, but in the grand scheme of things there are so many worse things that happen in this world that how someone can harbor that much hate is beyond me.

Genuinely quite sad to see so many people trying to justify it.

Taking my 5 year old son and him having to witness that song was disgraceful, and this wasn’t a minority singing it. It was an absolute embarrassment. How people can’t let this go is beyond me. We sound small minded and pathetic. Can people actually comprehend how this comes across to other teams, and the same wankers singing it are probably the same who condemn Chelsea and West Ham for thier fans behaviour.
I'm not saying it's right, I don't sing it myself, but that song gets sung at virtually all of our away games.
Probably not the best game to take a 5 year old to tbh, it was never gonna be Kumbaya and We Are The World.

Sorry, matchday thread joke which just came out rubbish!
Genuinely I thought you'd posted in the wrong thread and was trying to score a cheap Funny or two by pointing it out.

*hint* Anyone? A cheap Funny for an honest fellow... <sob>

One of our best songs is 20 years old for a player with just 21 appearances... Nicola Berti, it all depends if the name rhymes.

To be honest as long as it's not obviously racist/homophobic shit and not criticism of our own players then I couldn't care less. It must be hard work finding so many things offensive. The only person it should be offending is Campbell and who cares what he thinks?

Wishing him dead is probably too far but I doubt 99% of the people singing that song actually want him dead, obviously there's a few genuine nutters but what can you do? You can't choose to take that song literally just to make a point.

All I know is we are still trying to 'wind up' someone who left the club 17 years ago by singing these songs and now we have devoted 11 pages to this thread about him (I hold my hand up to contributing to that amount of content). We should stop singing the songs and delete all reference to him on here....let's not pretend he's dead...let's just act like he never ever existed at all and stop feeding his massive ego.

Edit
Taking the piss out of a rival team is timeless and great fun, I'm all for it but who will be singing about this particular player in another 17 years ?...majority of fans won't even know who he was by then !
Time to move on...

Perhaps we can start a family friendly version of all these chants so your 7 year old boy or girl can just save saying that someone's a **** for the playground and join in on a match day without any worry or recourse. Every ones a winner.

When I was just a little boy,
My Mother Gave Me a little Toy,
An Arsenal fan on a string,
She told me to click its faulty head in
Faulty head in,..

I don’t mind the ‘hey Sol Campbell’ song, considering the genuinely disgusting chants we used to sing about him. The HIV one, Campbell loves Barrymore and ‘Have you ever seen Campbell with a bird?’ were all regularly sung.

Excellent work. Wasn't there a Dele Alli version a while back?
