Yago Falque has joined La Liga side Rayo Vallecano on loan until the end of the season.

The Spanish attacking midfielder, who has also previously spent time on loan with Southampton, played a prominent role in helping Almeria to promotion to Spain's top flight last season during a six-month loan spell that saw him play 22 league games and scoring twice.

A journalist on twitter has it that Rayo has a right to buy at the end of the loan - unclear how correct this is.

Rayo is regarded as the 3rd team in Madrid - after Real and Athletico. Finished 8th in La Ligua in 2012/13.

Most important season in Falque's career thus far. It really is do or bust. Hope we haven't got an agreement already in place because I'd love him to have a fantastic season and become a member of our squad in the future.

figured out the answer to my own question.... he's starting:

XI #Rayo: Rubén, Tito, Arbilla, Gálvez, Nacho, Saúl, Adrián, Trashorras, Lass, Iago Falqué, Alberto Bueno.

Terribly news, but it's encouraging that he went immediately into their starting XI, if he comes back as strong as before in 2-3 months he should still be able to have a good impact.

Just scored against Real Madrid but his own player touched by accident as it went past the goalkeeper and it got disallowed for offside.

The commentators seem perplexed as to why the goal was disallowed. The idiots. Shame for Iago though.

They been insanely unlikely Rayo, Iago hit this amazing 30 yard shot last week and that got saved somehow

As for the goal, if it stood, I dont think anybody would even complain, even after the game

If that's the rule then it should have stood. Didn't know that. Thought offside was offside.

Tried to Carvjal to sent off after a slight delayed reaction, had he gone down straight away it would be a sending off

Anyone seen anything of him lately? Went to a Rayo forum, but there were only old posts regarding him. "Total dissapointment" and "too slow" was the gist of it.
