This has already been a deeply confusing season. Nothing makes much sense and as the impact of the virus and the compacted calendar continues to be felt, nothing is likely to any time soon. But still, particularly given how the opening weekend went, there can be few details weirder than Tottenham, who host Brighton on Sunday, would have gone into this weekend top of the Premier League had they not let slip a 3-0 lead against West Ham.

I don’t see how it would have been so weird for a team other than Liverpool or City being top after half a dozen games.

what’s so weird about this season apart from Villas 7 and City stuttering because they are a bit light up top?

they’ve got to find something to write about I spose

We've had two games where Kane and Son played superb... But that's about it. Don't see how we look like title contenders yet.

No, we don't, but I think we have potential to be, I guess that's the point. Obviously there's a big gap between current reality and potential, but that doesn't mean we can't do it.

Let’s wait and see eh? The Antwerp game was very much a reality check but we do have a powerful squad on paper. Just need the individuals therein to live up to their respective reputations (as per the Man U game) and we would have an outside chance. Given expectations at the start of the season I think top 4 and CL qualification would be an achievement

Plus a cup of some description please, It really is overdue that this club won some silverware, plus it will give hope to players like Kane that this is the right place to be for their future prospects.
