Pity. He was only Brazilian player that brought a bit of excitement to the game when he had the ball.

If I were the Columbian player who did this to him, id be fearing for my life right now. If the Brazilians don't get him then you can bet that the Columbian mafia will!!

Wow, gutted for him.. especially because I thought the little prick was faking.

It's a bit "boy who cried wolf" isn't it?

I have no real sympathy, I've never liked the way he simulates and he's a very dirty fucker himself, often nipping at players and leaving the odd boot in here or there.

I think Hulk is the only player on that side other than Neymar who has been willing to run at players.

I wonder what this does to their team selection? Will they bring in Bernard, push Hulk up front, or try something else?

These karma comments are rather harsh. Not sure I'd be celebrating this

I'm not celebrating anything, as I've had back issues myself from the 'ol goal-keeping days.

But, Neymar himself can be a dirty bastard as video evidence proves; he's also prone to throwing himself to the grass as though he's been snipered; and then there's the 'special treatment' that Brazil have recieved (in my opinion) throughout this entire WC.

It's hardly surprising that one or all of the above could cause a cynical reaction towards him/Brazil, even though he's genuinely injured now.

I want this Brazil team out: they are a shit stain on the memory of this legendary football nation. Without Neymar the odds have increased. There's still the referee situation, but let's see what happens in the next game. :)

I'm really surprised by the news. It takes a far heavier blow to fracture a vertabrae than I thought the Colombian dealt, as I said in the match thread I didn't think it looked like he went in that hard.

Germany should slaughter Brazil now they'll be missing their two best players. Thiago Silva's suspended too, silly boy.

I thought it would have been nothing more than what you'd feel from a kidney punch. I was really surprised, and sad for him when I heard it was a break. Agree that German will most likely ruin them. Buti had odds of 9-1 Germany winning before the tournament. Shame I only put a £5 on!

It's funny watching this Brasil team. Really shows you how good R9 was.

No body in this team is even in the same league as him.

To put the 2014 Brazil team into context:

This is a proper Brazil team, with the likes of Falcao, Socrates and Zico. Aside from the goals, just watch the fluid movement, awareness and individual flair.

It really shows up the big ego muppets running around in yellow at this WC.

Well he is potentially the best striker ever. So yes of course it's a downward step.

Neymar isn't the problem though. It's the other 2 chumps he has with him.

I would guess that his back was already in a weakened state due to the phenomenal contortions he achieves whilst simulating being fouled by innocent opponents.

Stop diving..
