Poch just said: We’re focusing on our injuries and problems. The most important maybe is that the England national team understand the situation with our players. That is the competition. You cannot do too much only have a good relationship with the national team.

Hopefully Kane, Dele and Winks will be withdrawn so can have a good rest

Kane didn't seem injuried when he got off? Hopefully not too bad.
Winks too, hopefully just a minor problem

Noticed dembele was limping/ hobbling a slight fraction when strolling during a period of no play. Looks like he has got problems he is carrying.

Based on how Kane was hobbling around for the majority of the first half, we should be able to make a case that he needs to stay at home for treatment. No need at all for him to go away with England.

Winks definitely needs to remain with us. No questions asked.

Kane will choose if he goes. He wants to be captain in the World Cup, and he wants to break the goal scoring record. He will go and he will play.

Poch needs to save him from himself. He's the type who will play until he's injured and beyond. We need to manage that, and he needs to manage it too.

If he has a scan and something shows, there’s no way they will release him.

We've had a bit of bad luck with injuries mounting up, but the good luck that the international break comes now.

Fingers crossed we'll get most of the squad fit for Arsenal.

Indeed, you'd hope Southgate will be sensible and actually not select Kane.

Not only so it avoids risk of him getting injured but also because he really needs to make sure he has viable alternatives up front so should be trying out some of his other options.

The thing is this isn't just about trying new players. Southgate has said he wants to try a new system/style of play. In order to see if it works properly he will need to see how that impacts what will undoubtedly be his starting CF. I don't want him playing either, but if he is fit enough to play he will definitely be in there for that reason. I just hope he uses him sparingly and changes things up as soon as he can.

Southgate could leave those players who are nailed on and tired/carrying niggly injuries at home and look at options.

That would only leave him two games next year to prepare for a World Cup - can't see Southgate going for it.

Personally, I think resting key players as much as possible mid winter holds the key to summer tournaments, and these types of friendly are best place to start. If the World Cup was next month we'd have a greater chance of winning it

The main issue with that is that you can't build relations between players in just the four weeks of pre-tournament build-up, at least not successfully. Part of Woy's failings have recently been put down to the massive chopping and changing he did both pre- and mid-tournament, I'm sure Southgate wants an as settled XI as possible and that necessitates players playing together in both these and the March friendlies.

Surely Kane has seen that happen during the Liverpool game?
