Wouldn't be surprised to see Sanchez play in the Derby.

Great news he's back soon, gives us plenty of options for rotation over the festive period.

Great to know now we can just drop foyth into most games without to much worry. Shame not fit for Saturday would have been ideal give jan or Toby a rest.

Just saw a table of top 6 injuries. We have 11 players that have missed 5 games or more that’s the most by a mile.

Any hints as to how serious Vertonghens thigh injury was? Alderweireld and Kane the only two of the "WCSemi 9" (or something) that hasn't had a muscle injury, and with Alderweirelds history, it kinda feels that it's just a matter of time before it happens if he has to play every minute.

Well I’m sure he’s not just gonna sit around getting paid for 2.5 yrs. there must be injury clauses in the contract.

Hope so. Still taking up a squad place though? Shame there's not a Stoke or West Brom around in the prem to take him off our hands.

Actually on second thoughts I don't miss those anti-football neanderthals.

Much more likely that the club insure the players against injury and are compensated if the player suffers a long term or career ending injury. The player will still get paid his salary, or in some cases offered a termination payment that releases them from all club duties (like attending training ground every day, attending matches, community work etc.). If you signa 5 year contract and get a career ending injury you will typically get paid out, which is why players want long term contracts (otherwise they'd all insist on monthly or annual ones)

He's only taking up a squad place if we make him in the squad, if he's finished he'll be taken off the registered squad and replaced, for example by Foyth in the CL squad.
