It’s a good opportunity to bring in more youngsters. Kane and Mason excelled when we were in the doldrums in terms of form and so this could be their chance. Winks has been excellent and Skipp could do with more game time. I’m not sure if there’s a number 9/10 who could replace Kane/Son.

I do think people forget Kane had been banging 'em in during the Europa League before he finally got his chance to replace Soldado/Adebayor in league matches. He did not just appear out of nowhere.

It’s good to give youngsters a chance but personally I think it’s a bit unfair on Skipp to expect him to be a 1st choice CM for a top 4 team right now. He’s only recently turned 18. We should be easing him in gradually - cup matches, sub appearances etc. - not thrusting him into a gruelling top 4 challenge as well as a cup semi with Chelsea or CL tie with Dortmund. It's just too much responsibility for an 18yr old.

We really ought to buy a CM this month but I fear we won't.

The idea that Skipp is going to come in and perform like a top-4 midfielder is just wishful thinking. If he was that good, he'd be playing there already.

Pretty sure this is the moment for Harry Kane-Peters to step up.

We rushed him back from his last ankle injury and he wasn't the same for months. Yeah its shite him being out but I hope the medical staff keep his over enthusiasm in check.

The CM is still bare bones even if Dier is back -- we'd still be in the position of needing to play him and Winks in every match, with rotation being impossible other than for early-round cup ties where Skipp can be brought in. That's exactly the situation which led to Sissoko picking up a muscle injury. It's completely unsustainable.

Poch said sissoko was minor.

In all seriousness all 3 of Harry's ankle injuries have been in Sunday games with official confirmation of time out given on the Wednesday twice and once on the Monday night. (Yes I researched that) so yeah.

I might be taking the piss slightly, but was it better or worse news when we didnt find out until Wednesday, as opposed to Monday?

Seeing as though it looks like it will be Wednesday on this occasion.

Haha. The least amount of time out was Bournemouth confirmed on the Wednesday. Ahhh I work in a school and a lad sprained his ankle at the weekend and I was watching his movement and everything like it had some sort of bearing on Harry's ? #LimitedAnkleKnowledge

We should only be buying players we want for the long term not to cover for 3 or 4 weeks injury problems. Surely as a professional footballer, at any age, you want the chance to prove yourself. Yes of course Skipp is nowhere near a top midfielder yet but look at the opposition we have in the next month, other than the Chelsea semi and Champs League games these are perfect matches for him to be involved in. Even those big games I would lkke to see him given a chance. People moan when we don't play our youngsters but then clammer for experienced signings as soon as they do actually have the chance to play.

I agree we do need to strengthen our midfield but it should be players Poch wants for the long haul not a panic buy.

Sorry mate but that is a silly post. Firstly Poch is very careful when introducing young players. He does not over play them. Secondly this is the Premier League not some pub kick about and he is only 18. Thirdly the centre of midfield is possibly the most testing position to play in in the Premier League and young players need time to adjust to the pace and the strength of the Premier League.

I agree we shouldn’t panic buy. We're in this position precisely because of a lack of long term strategic thinking. There should've been some succession planning last summer for the likes of Dembele (who it seems is now off to China this month) and we've known about Wanyama's fitness issues for more than a year.

Despite the stadium financing issues we ought to have a bit foresight so we don't end up panic buying.
