I'm not sure what world people are in but you can't just buy players on permanent contracts to cover for injuries/absence.

It's no different from the real world during the summer holidays when half of every department is off for 2 weeks in August and the other half for the other two.
You don't employ a further half a department to work all year round just to cover for that month.

It's no different for a football club as it's not FM but a real business.

We will only buy players to replace those who are no longer here.

You do know in the real world people get hired as temps or short term contracts, no different from a loan move or even picking up someone on a free for a few months.

We don't have to only buy if we sell.

By that rocket-scientist logic then, let’s replace Dembele and let’s do it quickly.

Until this week we’ve been playing 2 games a week since November. These injuries are a consequence of that even though Poch has done well rotating players. Either we buy more quality for depth or we field the reserves in the League Cup, which despite being harder to win than the FA Cup has no prestige.

How many injuries we gonna get this season? Ridiculous, considering as well some media reports and pundits suggest we have had few injuries this season.

Is aurier injured? He's disappeared since tranmere

Worst injury crisis since Gerry Francis and we had to play Neale Fenn and Rory Allen at Old Trafford.

If only there was some way we could've had prior warning that much of our squad would be involved in an international tournament and miss pre season training.

I did think we would probably replace Dembele but now that it hasn't happened yet and Dier has returned, I'm beginning to think we won't. See very little prospect of signing anyone in the forward positions solely as a reponse to injuries.
Moura/Dier hopefully back for Chelsea and then I would expect a pretty weak/experimental team against Palace in the FA Cup to protect key players still standing

He got arrested and as a result missed the United game for beating up his girlfriend. He's not being charged but there's normally something in these cases which the club would be aware of and need to deal with, both for PR and in terms of keeping him on the straight and narrow - given his previous if he did end up in court he could well be deported from Britain.

No company I have ever worked for, or had dealings with , has covered periods of a month with temps.

Son, Dier, Moura, and Sissoko are all going to be back within a month.
Kane and Alli, I'm assuming, within two.

We'll use Llorente, GNK, and Skipp to fill in and possibly replace Dembele if a No 1 target is available.

Shit. Completely missed that, is that widely known? Would explain extra trippier recently

This is where Levy fucked up in the first place - signings should have been made during the summer, we knew our problems. So I'm sorry but Levy has to make up for his naivety in this window.

Some comments from Poch:

"We need to assess [Alli] in the next few days," Pochettino said. "It doesn't look great."

"On the pitch, I think we all agree that when you see him put his hand on his hamstring it's a situation where it's not great to see that.

"It's not a worry, it's a massive opportunity for different players to play. Like I told you with Harry Kane and now with Dele Alli, we hope it's not a big issue but the most important thing is to believe. We go there [to Chelsea] trying to win the game and go to the final.

"Lucas Moura was training today at the training ground. He's going to be okay. Today we didn't want to take a risk with him but he's nearly 100 percent to try to help the team.

"Maybe it's not going to be Dele Alli [at Chelsea], but we're going to have Lucas Moura on the bench or maybe starting from the beginning. We'll see how we're going manage him now."

For a pretty minor offence, in the whole scheme of crimes? It takes fucking years to send terrorists or murderers back to their own countries.

Agree. You cant cater for Kane, Sissoko, and Alli all getting injured the same week Son fks off for the Asian Cup.
Its like Liverpool losing Salah, Mane and Firmino and Fabino in the same fkin week.
Would the media be saying they dont have squad depth and should have spent more in the summer? Doubt it.
Would they struggle slightly?
I think they might. Anyone would. Its just utter shite timing.
