Let’s try and get Zaha NOW

One of the only players around that challenges the 1st XI

Would give us instant options and give everyone a bit of help and more legs

Treading water and wasting his talent at Palace

Imagine what Poch could do with him...

We may well be trying, but there is very little chance of Palace even listening in January I'd say.

No company I have ever worked for, or had dealings with , has covered periods of a month with temps.

Son, Dier, Moura, and Sissoko are all going to be back within a month.
Kane and Alli, I'm assuming, within two.

We'll use Llorente, GNK, and Skipp to fill in and possibly replace Dembele if a No 1 target is available.

Moura Dier will back Thursday and Son and Sissoko 2 weeks max. Son could be back tomorrow Bahrain are no mugs.

It’s very odd we had x4 CB out then x3 CM out and now x3 goal threats. We’ve consistently had 4-6 out since start of December. What’s made it worse is they’ve all come in clumps in one area not spread through the squad.

DT reporting that Sissoko could be available for Thursday :)

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...-does-not-look-great-dele-alli-ahead-chelsea/

Pochettino also revealed midfielders Lucas Moura and Moussa Sissoko, who were not involved against Fulham, may be fit enough to face Chelsea, who they lead 1-0 after the first leg.
That would be a boost, although I hope we aren't rushing him back. Let's hope Dele's is the same and will only take a couple of weeks to recover from. If we can arrive ahead of the Leicester game with everyone available bar Kane then it will look a it more promising for us.

Secondly, what is going on with Wanyama, last I saw was that he was back in the gym, did he ever get back on the training ground?

Not sure Dier could last 90 minutes against a team like Chelsea. He didn't look at all match fit to me when he came on against Fulham.

He wasn't match fit, and no one expected him to be. To be match fit he'd have to play matches.

The frustrating thing is we might not have a choice but to play him, otherwise our midfield is going to get overrun.

No, we don't have depth at CF. We have Kane, one old striker who can barely move, and one that is nowhere near good enough. One look at Llorente's PL minutes shows just how much faith Poch has in him. "Depth" means actually having viable options, not just numbers.

Son isn't a striker. Moura isn't a striker. We need someone good up front as a backup. All top teams have this, even those with great strikers.

As to foreseeability, we absolutely could foresee that Kane, who plays virtually every game, even when carrying knocks, would get injured at some point. I'd even go so far as to say that his ankle ligament injuries make future ones more likely; as I understand it, once you've done them once, they're weakened and more likely to go again. So yes, I think one doesn't need a crystal ball to see that if Kane gets injured we don't have proper backup.

As for midfield, it surely was apparent last summer that Wanyama had a chronic knee problem; the ITK alluded to it being like King's knee issues. We also knew that Dembele was fading and always likely to miss a significant amount of games through injury. That's two first-choice midfielders we knew we couldn't rely on. Sissoko has done well this season but he remains limited compared with a proper CM, and I very much doubt Poch was expecting to rely on him in that position.

We have been unlucky with injuries, but some of those we saw coming, and I don't think it's unreasonable to expect your only decent striker to get injured at some point if you play him every single game.

Sadly, our decision not to recruit this summer looks like it will cost us. We should have shifted unwanted players for realistic prices and invested in quality replacements. They didn't need to be worldies. There's quality out there.

Fecking bang on sir!

Yes is back in training according to the OS.

There’s a video of Dele jumping up when we scored. I really don’t think he’d be doing that if it was a serious tear.

It would be great if we could have Sissoko, Wanyama, Dier and Winks all fit for the central midfield positions, but it's kind of funny because in reality it's still very much lacking.
