Nice article but has rewritten history at the end, claiming Poch gave him his Spurs first team breakthrough when it was Sherwood.

He started getting cameos under AVB as well, which is saying something about how well he must have done in training at the time. Any manager could be forgiven for giving those minutes to some of the many signings that came in during the summer window of 2013.

Which leads me to believe that Kanes carerr didn't hinge on Sherwood. Reckon he would've forced himself into the team over time anyways. Maybe sooner, since AVB had already put Adebayor on the naughty step.

I'd sooner give credit to AVB and Poch than Sherwood. He obviously gave him that run of games, but AVB had already been using him, and it was Poch who really trusted him.

I think Sherwood was a disastrous manager, and was very glad when he was ousted. However, it was Sherwood who really blooded Kane and the run of games he got made him a viable first choice starter as he scored goals.

His real 'breakthrough' came when he started scoring goals. I don't think you can credit one particular manager with that. He got games here and there with all of them.

Sherwood was his own worst enemy. He had a fantastic opportunity, the same as Poch, but instead of keeping his own council and professionalism, he decided over night he was billy big bollox when facing media and began slating team and individuals in public, As soon as he went down this route, there is only one outcome.. Players and fans don't trust, respect or like him. His downfall is entirely his own making

I will always remember the match thread for the game where Sherwood gave Kane his first league start. There were what seemed like a majority of posters crying their fucking eyes out that Kane had been picked over Poor Bobby

What about wenger? He was Harry's manager in some tenuous scenarios also

When it's not being abused and misused with the hoarding and lending of players who are never intended to be reared for the first team but simply to bump up their value, the mechanics have a natural elegance to them

A sly dig at Chelsea?

He would have almost gone out on loan had AVB stayed as manager

Also he didnt get cameos under AVB, he got less minutes under AVB then he did under Redknapp despite being a better player. As @mpickard2087 stated, when we was selected under sherwood everyone was going mad.

AVB barely used Kane despite the fact that Adebayor was frozen out and instead went with Defore all the time. Even when Kane had a very good appearance against Hull, Kane wasnt even on the bench for the next game nor did he start in the Europa League. AVB was always reluctant to use any youth players and the people on here were stating it was because they arent good enough yet 2 seasons later one of those players is regarded as the best young striker in the world

Ah poor Bobby, those were the days (when we weren't playing to his strengths, i.e. providing him with open goals).

In my opinion his breakthrough was his goal against Aston Villa which was the stupidest free kick I've ever seen, or at least the worst free kick I've ever seen actually go in. It must have been around that time he sold his soul/mother to become whatever he is now, no non-witchcraft powered person scores free kicks like that.

I'm going to give some credit to us fans too. Pochettino was quite hesitant about playing Kane when he first joined, and the fans were singing Kane's name and making it clear we wanted to see him start games.

It even came up in Pochettino's early interviews, when he seemed unsure about giving Kane a chance because of his age and lack of experience. Obviously Pochettino only started him when he felt the time was right, but I genuinely believe the support of the fans helped him make that decision.

He'd played games before, but for me it was always that run of goals in Europa at start of season that kicked things off.

Sorry man but thats simply not right. A lot of people here, me included, we're 100% Kane getting into the starting 11. I'll concede maybe the people on the match day threads this was the attitude?
