Many have been too quick to judge Lamela as a failure. He needs to be given this next season to, hopefully, show us what he can bring to the team. Selling him now would be silly.

Who are we kidding? Unless Lamela makes a "Vertonghan-like statement", we know Levy will cash-in given a chance.:(

Not happening. Also Tom Ince is headed to Inter to sort out a deal there so Lamela will be staying at Spurs.

Are you seriously trying to say he won't know who the Southampton manager is if somebody asked him?

Just wow.
I'm not saying he literally won't know him.
What I'm saying is he's a nobody.
Imagine Wayne Rooney, aged 21, signing for a decent Argentinean team, say river plate. A year later they sack the boss and look for a replacement.
They decide to pick the team who finished 8th, who Rooney had never heard of and can't pronounce, and take their English boss.
Sure Rooney has heard of him, it's always good that they're another Englishman there, but the guys a bit of a "much of muchness"
A moyes, Hughes, Hodgson etc.

I'm pretty sure Pochettino can convince Lamela to stay. The style of football Saints played would be a factor for Lamela to consider. A 'team who finished 8th' was Southampton Football Club. Now no disrespect to them but we are a bigger club with better players.

I'm not saying we are going to finish top 4 but surely he can achieve a lot more at Spurs with superior players then he had at Southampton.

They'll have to find him first.

There he is! Still hiding from Sherwood...He apparently didn't get the memo - that Timmy was sacked:

I wouldnt care less if he went personally. We wouldnt notice anyway.
If theres a chance we can get a big chunk of the ridiculous over priced amount we paid out I think we should take it. He may prove to be a good player but I've seen nothing to base that on.
If we'd only forked out 15m Id say keep him & see what happens but imo it's just too big a gamble if we have a chance to get our money back (no pun intended).
If he has another season like the last one we wont get f all for him and its 30m down the pan.
30m ??? Still cant get over it.
That said I doubt he'll be going anywhere.
