Why would you drop Aldo and Trippier in an important first Euro match? Nobody has played well in our last 2 games but why single them out, they are two of our best players? I don't think Sanchez is a better player than Aldo and Aurier is an accident waiting to happen. Poch did this a couple of seasons ago when he dropped key players for Euro games and it failed miserably. It's all very well blaming the players for our poor form and rightly so but he has to have a good look at himself lately with his line-ups and substitutions. He could end up the manager that everybody likes but never won anything.
think it actually makes sense, long world cup and they both played a lot, they both played on Saturday, if Poch is resting players and Aurier and Sanchez were going to play it makes perfect sense to rest them both and save them a flight, i would imagine they will both play Saturday and probably be Verts that will be rested, we have a squad and we have a number of tired players

Aurier has questions around him, but Sanchez was excellent last season in the CL, and tbh I don't see why he should be getting sidelined anyway, for a player who didn't feature at all last season, for whatever disciplinary reason it was.

I'm far more concerned about the midfield at the moment.

Really hoping Poch will now play KWP at right back, although have nasty feeling he’ll go same old stale route and play Aurier...

At least Sanchez should start at centre back now.

Any Spurs supporter who can’t get excited about only our 34th Champions League/ European cup fixture in 136 years of existence needs to take a long hard look at themselves, and anybody suggesting they’d not be upset by a loss can just plain fuck off, they don’t deserve to support this great club.

For fuck sake, we’ve had a blip. Nearly three decades ago we were almost bankrupt. Two decades ago we were watching long balls played by John Scales to Steffen Iversen. One decade ago we had just recorded a 0-0 home draw with Wigan in our fifth game of the season, yet to win, having lost three of the previous four and with three more losses to come ahead of our inaugural win of that season.

There may come a time to get stressed. Now is not that time.

Meh, I think it’s quite fair. 1945 for us is 2145 for Italians. Why should the inter fans not get home, with work the next day, until gone midnight?

Sod what they want, it’s all about me! And I want a reasonable KO time that I can actually get home from work in time for. We had to put up with 6pm KO times in the Europa League FFS. That was one of the decent things about the Champs League, they always kicked off at a convenient time for me. Ridiculous, why couldn’t effing Pool KO at 17.55?!!

Little bit selfish mate, I hope you’re being tongue in cheek. I’m in the same boat as you, I’m going to have to stick the match on record and watch it delayed by roughly 20/25 minutes. But it’s only fair that if kick offs in the uk are at 8ish local time, then so are those in Europe.

At first I laughed inwardly, thinking this was a knowingly parodical joke... but then it descended into some rambling, spittle soaked grumble, and I realised it was serious. Oh well...

I may have come across as if I was being a bit tongue in cheek, but to be honest, I’m as serious as cancer when it comes to 17.55 KO times.

Imagine dominating England and Europe for 20 years, establishing yourselves as the biggest football club in the world, and then having it all slowly decay into profit margins, resulting in your getting humped 3-0 at home, in your self styled Theater of Dreams, by "lads, its Tottenham"?

That... is something to be upset about.

Why don't you get a job that allows you to WFH or just ask your boss, think you need to reconsider your career if you want to watch Tottenham mate, this one is on you.

17.55 KO times are great really. Who doesn’t love missing their team play in the Champs League!

Maybe you’re right, it’s my fault isn’t it! I’m going to enjoy those last 10 minutes tonight though. Gonna make the most of it.

I know mate, I'm sure all those people in Eastern Europe and Russia love their teams kicking off at 10/11pm at night...

To be fair, Champs Lge games taking place in Russia and Ukraine have always had earlier kick offs (5pm GMT I think, so 8pm local time). This move hasn't been made to accommodate fans on CET, its been done to try and squeeze more TV revenues out of the competition. I'm not sure a 6:55pm kick off is much better than the usual 8:45pm kick off that Italians are used to in this competition.

So you don’t think the Inter fans with work tomorrow are happier getting home by 10 instead of midnight?
