So you don’t think the Inter fans with work tomorrow are happier getting home by 10 instead of midnight?

Possibly, but that's not the reason they've made this change. Hence half of the Champs Lge games taking place in Italy this season are kicking off at at the later kick off time of 9pm local time - including Inter's game against Barcelona which I'm sure more Inter fans will be interested in that tonight's fixture.

Also, a quick glance at Serie A fixtures indicates that Serie A midweek games tend to kick off at 8:30pm CET, so I don't think your argument holds when it appears that Italy's own preference for their own fixtures is to kick off games closer to the traditional 8:45pm kick off than this new 6:55pm slot.

Fair enough. Still think it’s an absurd point for people to be whinging over.

Exactly.

We took 8 points from our opening 5 PL matches last year compared to 9 on the board this season.
Yep, I mentioned this before.
Seems perspective isn't something a lot of fans have time for though, unfortunately.
I can understand the pessimism as we were unlucky not to get more than 8 points from the first 5 games playing well last season, while we are lucky to have got 9 points from the first 5 games playing poorly so far this season. That is perspective. My own POV is that we will wake up from our slump and will do well, starting with today's CL match

Time to tune into talkb******s radio for some pre-match warmup rubbish voiced by oafs.

We need to shake off some staleness. A reaction to Saturday would mean fighting harder for second balls, pressing more effectively and persistently, and attacking with speed and purpose more than we have. A lot more than we have.

And if we do that, we'll steady the ship. I'd be happy with a draw here to stop the bleeding and keep ourselves competitive in this group.

Im excited to see some different players but also concerned by the chopping and changing, going to be difficult to get out of this rut we are in but really hoping Lamela can show the team what it looks like to have some bollocks.

Any Spurs supporter who can’t get excited about only our 34th Champions League/ European cup fixture in 136 years of existence needs to take a long hard look at themselves, and anybody suggesting they’d not be upset by a loss can just plain fuck off, they don’t deserve to support this great club.

For fuck sake, we’ve had a blip. Nearly three decades ago we were almost bankrupt. Two decades ago we were watching long balls played by John Scales to Steffen Iversen. One decade ago we had just recorded a 0-0 home draw with Wigan in our fifth game of the season, yet to win, having lost three of the previous four and with three more losses to come ahead of our inaugural win of that season.

There may come a time to get stressed. Now is not that time.

you make two different points. Course it's fkin exciting, and will be nerve-jangling too. A defeat in this group of death would take a lot of coming back from.

But there's no need for the selective history lesson. We've had many highs in the decades some fans can remember that you don't quote. Even in the 90s and 00s we lifted a pot.

And no need to tell me when to get stressed. Anyone watching the last two games will have been stressed. I'm stressed now, although think we're due/owed a performance by those whose standards have dropped enormously this season. One's now on massive money, the other has been offered it but looks like running his contract down...

I can see why he is playing this team it's back to basics I think with Kane up top as the furthest forward.

I think Rose should have played but with Son playing I can also see why Davies

Would have preferred Winks, Wanyama and Rose but I guess he's playing it a little safer.

Wanyama not 100% match fit yet. Winks may not be ready for 2 starts in 4-5 days. Rose and Davies rotation.
Not really a safer decision, just case by case.

Many of us would rather see KWP there instead of Aurier but the reality is that once the TW closed with Aurier at the club he was going to start higher up the pecking order than KWP....which is why I was hoping that someone would have tried to buy Aurier from us in the summer.

Surprised at Lucas not making the cut - I'd have had him ahead of either Son (very likely tired), Eriksen (massively out of form) or Kane (ditto) for that matter. But could be useful off the bench too. COYS
