The new Arsenal sans trophies isn’t too bad considering where we were a decade ago.
Don't you think expectations should be altered as the results over the past few years have?

Does Napoli think oh man second was great last year after we were in Serie B 7 years ago?

He need to get in a position where he can receive the ball and shoot.
He isn't doing that.
Defenders have him in their pocket at the moment although it is made easier easier for them as Kane seems to be 'marking' them

I agree he’s hiding and marking defenders like never before but I’m convinced he’s got a problem

If you want to shoot you can, whether your in the correct position or should be taking the shot is another matter

That Eriksen free kick tonight was just too far out for Eriksen I reckon and a fully fit Kane steps up and smashes that

So far we've beaten Toon, the Cottagers and an unlucky to lose Yanited and we've lost to Pool, the Hornets and Inter. The midfield is a colander, our striker is clearly in need of rest and recouperation, several key players haven't signed new contracts, the Gaffer is talking in tongues and the concerns that arose out of Dannygate aren't going away. I'm not confident.
Spot on.. things could really fall apart on us.. hopefully not and everyone will dig in.. Poch obviously not happy though.

Get a grip man. You must be a new Spurs fan. The mid nineties to mid early 2000's was dreadful.

Different days though. I used to enjoy the times where we would cheer a successful pass, and not conceding 4 against the top teams each game would class as a decent result.

The last 3/4 years have spoiled us.

So gutting that result against a team who offered very little until a wonder goal changed the whole match. Yankspurs is right the mid 90s to mid 2000's was truly woeful stuff at times with some right drubbings handed out so we have come far. My only fear is history beginning to repeat itself? Defending at set peices under Jol for example was terrible and under Poch it seems to becoming terrible! Also Poch's ramblings are a receipe for anger but
so obviously stung by the fact the team is so devoid of energy (Lucas apart) and nous that any transfer funds need an invester who will bring hard cash with a priority to actually want to win all competitions! But then we can't even get a sponsor for naming rights. The rot has to end Saturday if not then this already could be a return to mediocre times.

This squad has worked their butt off for the past three years. They've then worked their butt off over a World Cup. How long can they be expected to keep trying every year if the club isn't investing? Same for Poch. How long is he supposed to keep caring if he isn't backed?

And please, don't anyone feed me the "Poch didn't need to be backed" crap. The man had been very explicit over the course of the past season. New players, signed early. Be brave. The tune only changed the second he got a multimillion pound pay rise and knew he needed to tow the party line.

I agree, this is on Levy, he has failed to back Redknapp when we finished in top 4 and he has failed to back poch. Just look at how Liverpool have backed Klopp. Now thats ambition to win trophies.

What a disaster!

No point pretending otherwise. We went from favourites to qualify to outsiders in 6 minutes.

What do we do now? No point in panicking and feeling doomed. We have to pull it around. A challenge but we know we’re good enough in terms of ability and character. Let’s get behind Poch and the team and fight back.

I don’t think there’s any need to overreact here. 3 defeats in a row, not good, but it’s not the end of the world. People saying we’re not gonna qualify are jumping the gun - we lost in the last minute.

However. The perfect storm, that has been basically co-ordinated by the upper echelons takes some doing! The worst thing is the disenchantment it is creating, which I for one held before the first game of the season, after wins in the first three matches, and after three straight losses.

It’s a collective responsibility but it comes from the top, and it’s all avoidable. Signs shouting about the only place to watch CL in London, raking in millions and not buying one good player. It smacks of complacency and poor organisation which is unforgivable.

I’m especially disappointed as i’ve been waiting my whole life for a season ticket. I got one at Wembley, and was so excited for this season to be a ‘proper’ ST holder, but it’s all gone a bit pear-shaped, and it’s a lot of wedge for that initial commitment and let down, especially when saving for a house!

Let’s hope for a turnaround on the pitch at least next week.

Someone needs to tell the players that they've successfully destroyed our expectations again after that aberration against Man Utd. Once they know we don't expect them to win anything then they might start defending corners and having a few shots....you know like playing football?

It's like whenever they do something great that gets us excited about winning something they go out of their way afterwards to fuck things up as much as possible.

They did it to me yet again. After Old Trafford I got my hopes up and believed the bullshit players' interviews the following week.

It's not the defeats, it's the manner of them.

We've looked cack. Properly cack. Like alternate universe where Kane is still the bloke who spits on himself after hoofing the ball into the Trafford Centre cack.

Whatever your expectations are, it doesn’t change reality. When things are going badly I personally find it helpful to remember how far we’ve come to even be in this position.

This is the worst rut in Poch’s reign. Their ability to pass this test remains to be seen.

That is simply not true. 2 years ago we were dumped out of CL in humiliating fashion from a group we were supposed to top. We recovered from that to be the only serious challengers for the title. We then topped the group of death the following year.

This group and manager deserves more faith from us.

Hard not to panick to be honest. Distrastrous transfer window, no stadium, players look like they can’t be arsed, managers decision making been awful. Something is not right at the moment.

I honestly fear for our season long term
Lloris injured and we don’t know where he is mentally
Don’t know if the Trippier & Alderweireld rumours are true but if they are....
Davies just isn’t good enough
Rose has been fucked over by all his injuries and doesn’t look the same
Is KWP even alive?
Wanyama has had a lot of injuries and when played he hasn’t looked the same
Dembele just can’t play more than 60 minutes anymore and we all knew that, he would’ve left if we bought a CM but he decided to stay to help the club which I respect but he just isn’t the same
Winks still needs time but worrying that he got a chronic injury so we can’t rely on him because he will get a lot of injuries
Dier has probably been our worst player this season, he hasn’t had a good game in a while. Isn’t good anywhere near good enough to play In midfield and I don’t trust him in a 4 at the back as a CB
Sissoko injured but isn’t the player that will help us
Eriksen hasn’t been on the level he can be but he always starts a bit slow and maybe he’s tired
Lamela is also injury prone so you can’t trust him to be fit the whole season
Son has played sooo many games lately, he must be physically and mentally tired
Kane hasn’t looked the same since he came back from injury, he needs a rest but that won’t happen because of his ego and the fact that we don’t have a good back up
Llorente is old and finished
Will GKN even play this season?
When will Foyth play and how much does Poch trust him?
And Poch needs to stop playing different formations every game, and his in game management is still the worst in the league

I’m worried

Sorry but I can’t buy in to this “ah well, things could be worse, at least it’s not the 90s” bollocks.

Of course things could be worse. That doesn’t make our rapid decline in form since March acceptable.

Let’s not pretend we ended last season well, and let’s certainly not pretend we started this season well. Yes, we won 3 from 3, but we looked unconvincing against Newcastle and Fulham and we’re lucky to scrape results, and United should have finished us off in the first half.

Aside from a blistering second half against a woefully lacklustre Manchester United, I’ve seen nothing so far this season to offer a glimmer of hope.

It’s almost as if not signing any players in a window where we’ve said we’re backing the manager, and then failing to move in to our brand new stadium with little urgency to rectify the situation, have left a toxic atmosphere around the club. It’s as if the players no longer believe the “we’re really ambitious” line. It’s as if the club’s actions not matching its words actually fucking matters.

Astounding.

Which shows him to be incompetent.
You should send Joe Lewis your CV. I can imagine you on "24 hours in A and E": severe RTA victim comes in and your first comment to the trauma surgeon would be to ask the whereabouts of three contracts.

Actually in the Standard today they explained it succinctly. Meanwhile in the Sun they had a two page match preview with every cow and bull pun imaginable crammed in :D.
That was Dan Kirkpatrick, who was too young (or perhaps not even born)) toxplain the Cantona comment to the assembled idiots.
