Looked like he tweaked his ankle going round the keeper

I’m still banging on that that’s the problem and why his shots per game have fallen off a cliff

Unthinkable that Kane doesn’t have a shot.

A huge huge part Harry Kane’s game and mentality is ‘give me the ball, I’m going to shoot and score and If I don’t score with my first shot I’ll score with my 2nd or 3rd

He was having 7 or 8 shots every game

Zero shots in a game cannot be physical or mental tiredness

Really really hope I’m proved wrong

What was the sprint stat I read the other day? Kane made 7 sprints all game against Liverpool; In the 4-1 win last season he made more than 30

I think the World Cup excuse is a cop out to be honest. There’s plenty of players who played in it who have started the season well or extremely well in say Hazards case. I can understand it causing a hindrance 4/5 months into the season but I’m not buying it right now. I don’t think the players have look fatigued (I think Kane’s issue is a physical problem), I think they’ve looked like they aren’t focused, have lost drive, confidence and a spark.

I think Jonathon Wilson in the Guardian actually put it quite well - it’s like Spurs has been this ridiculous overachieving confidence trick that required everyone to just keep looking up, believing and pedalling frantically. Don’t worry about the heights, don’t worry about other clubs, your pay packet or your career, just don’t stop moving forwards. Our time is now!

Then this season everyone’s stopped and looked down at once.

Certainly whatever mojo we once had is well and truly gone, and we need to get it back quick. Our team used to pick itself, I have no idea what we’re trying to do most games at the moment

I'm sure plenty of this has been said but, On reflection

The first half was dog
The second half was much improved. We should have been out of sight. Not clinical enough. That's nothing to do with Poch. Signs were there that we were starting to improve. The high press returned led by Lamela who I thought was excellent.

Then Poch took him off and we regressed. We dropped deeper and looked like we were trying to nick a 2nd on the counter attack. The choice of sub was odd. Beaten by a wonder goal the atmosphere changed. Wanyama should have come on or Llorente for some defensive height.

Another set piece was our undoing. I think maybe now the people who were slating Lloris can see exactly what we brings to the team, and the defence especially. Calmness and organisation. We are missing him more than we miss Dele or any other player.

Thought Aurier had a cracking game and gave Perisic nothing all night. Kanes hold up play was good and he looked like he was finding a bit of something. As I said, Lamela was great, don't think Jan can really be blamed for not getting in front of the Icardi shot. Its about a half yard away from him.

Not sure I can blame Vorm for the defeat last night. But we've played 4 games with him recently, United semi final, Watford, Liverpool and last night and we've lost every single one of those games. It doesn't bode well if he's going to continue playing. Would like to see Gazzaniga given a go.

I am very disappointed with those who captained their countries in our team. Lacking so much maturity and mentality.

One would have thought this team is one which is cohesive, tough and mature. They are all the opposite of such.

Clearly something is not working or isn't right that's 6 goals in the last 3 game not good enough and again set pieces defending them are a joke.
I suppose it will change sooner or later but this team right now is under performance and to a degree I think the manager is too all of them need to sort themselves out.
Cant be coincidence that as soon as Hugo gets injured, we lose three on the bounce with shitloads of goals coming from set pieces...obviously there's more to it, players looking jaded and out of form etc, but I think it's maybe being overlooked how good a job he does as not only goalkeeper, but as our captain and organiser.

It's amazing how much confidence is built between the goal keeper and those who play in front of him and vice versa. Pretty clear in that aspect that there isn't much, if any, between Jan and then rest of them and Vorm behind.

It doesn't explain everything away, but I think this is one of many factors playing into our current dip in form.

I agree but I think we lost the match because of Pochetinos negative late subs. In particular taking of Lamela for Winks - especially when Winks was so poor on Saturday.

Sadly it feels like all our worst fears have been realized.

I think the key is for Poch not to become the new Tinkerman and stick to what has served the team well in the past. We have a great first XI but we are not overendowed with quality backup so we can't chop and change and expect things to automatically work.

As for Gazzaniga, he seems to be taking on almost legendary status by virtue of not being Vorm. He might well be better but the key for any goalkeeper is getting a run of games to build up confidence. Gazzaniga might need a few games to get into his stride and the fickle nature of football fans is such that if he makes a couple of clangers then he might end up getting stick too.

We are the new Arsenal sans the trophies. If you see 4th as the goal the rot will set in quickly.
Actually, they put themselves on a footing to challenge the biggest clubs financially. The problem was that Wenger became stale and didn't employ good coaches a la Fergie. They also didn't win trophies for a long time and the one they have won a few times is the one they looked down their nose at for years.

He quite simply has to get a familiar 11 back and stick with them until we get out of the mire. Chopping and changing just adds to the confusion and won't breed calmness and consistency.

It feels like he's over compensating for all the "he needs to improve his in-game management" concerns because he's making changes that don't even need making at the moment.

Definitely. This most certainly isn't the right time for experimentation.

His overall presence and calm is an overlooked influence on the team. Its why I genuinely think that his recent misdemeanour has had deeper ramifications than we realise. He has always been seen as a man of respect and dignity. He has let himself and others down very badly imo.

They say he's injured - the United game was 3.5 weeks ago.

You probably have a point there but like I say I'm sure it will turn back for us again sooner rather than later obviously because the concern is that it starts to eat away at morale and spirit, which was the base on which poch built our recent successful period on if we lose that if could be a very rough ride.

The new Arsenal sans trophies isn’t too bad considering where we were a decade ago.

I hate when someone says things like that. We are loosers and pussys but we were bigger loosers and pussys in 90s! Yeah!! As soon as fans, players, club get satisfied with being trophyless club who plays CL from time to time, we'll be back to where we were in 90s. I was sooo happy and excited after every of last 3 seasons. But not because we achieved something big but because we were going in right direction to achieve something big. Playing CL is just a step, next should be winning it. It's called ambitions.

Someone needs to tell the players that they've successfully destroyed our expectations again after that aberration against Man Utd. Once they know we don't expect them to win anything then they might start defending corners and having a few shots....you know like playing football?

It's like whenever they do something great that gets us excited about winning something they go out of their way afterwards to fuck things up as much as possible.

They did it to me yet again. After Old Trafford I got my hopes up and believed the bullshit players' interviews the following week.

And I'm starting to think otherwise. Maybe after 3 years of hearing from everywhere in the media that we are not good enough to win the league or anything the players started to agree with it. So hey, Spurs players, if you are reading this I'm expecting you to win something this season. Cause you are good enough to do it and were close last years. Time to make the final step.

I agree we need Hugo back, yes he's better than Vorm but that doesn't mean Vorm isn't good, he is, I am just not sure he is suits us as he is not a sweeper keeper or anything like it. A few times yesterday he should have come and collected but didn't and put defenders in awkward positions one of which led to Jan's air shot. Like I say, he is a good keeper I just think our defensive game changes when he plays.

Need to get moved into the stadium ASAP really. Due to all the negativity at the moment the entire club needs a lift.
