Thought Kane, Walker and Alli all played well (y)

I see Alli as a future Spurs captain

I was disappointed for Kane that he didn't score, as he needs every bit of confidence he can get right now. He's doing things right and was pretty unlucky in the end. But as we've noticed in a few Spurs games recently, he's shooting more when last season he would have been passing in certain situations. Hopefully he'll be back to his old self soon enough though!

I don't buy that whole "He's been found out by defenders" crap that various 'pundits' and hacks keep dribbling out. That never stopped Lineker or Shearer scoring goals did it!

Thought Walker was good last night.
Passed the ball more quickly and simply.
Nothing over ambitious in movement or passing.
Looked more composed and under control.

Yeah Jimmy, agree about Kyle; in fact I thought he played better as the game progressed......he needs to get game-time under his belt
With regards Harry Kane, I think in his own mind he did score, plus he had a good overall game and played as a striker should: he wasn't afraid to take on a shot; laid the ball off to others and came back for the ball at times. He looked every bit as good as Rooney i.m.o.

Kane is still a good player and he's not played badly this season. He looks to me like someone who can score around 20 goals a year and add a lot with support play. He's a new Sheringham rather than a new Lineker. Because last year he got 30 goals it now seems like an issue that he isn't in double figures yet. He's still learning his game and I'm happy with his progress, we need someone else to share the goal scoring burden.

I thought Kane looked sharper against Lithuania than he did against Estonia. His shots were pretty much all on target and he looked much more interested and hungry for the ball. Hopefully the England squad concentrated more on practice and tactics than fitness, thereby giving him a bit of a breather. Sometimes that's all it takes, let's hope he hits top form on Saturday!

Kane played well and basically scored (it's not as if the goalie could have done anything about it once it got past him the first time). However, the best thing about Kane in regards England was his ability to hold up the ball and bring in other players. Not so important with teams like Estonia/Lithuania, but against teams who will have more possession that provides England with a vital out ball and the basis for break away attacks. Rooney is the only other forward who can provide that and I suspect Roy will play Rooney in the nos 10 hole. For that reason I suspect Kane will be first choice in the summer.

Walker was good, but against that kind of opposition, so he should be. His assist for final goal was one of the best passes of the game. Don't think Roy would have learned a great deal from his performance though. Likely squad player in the summer.

Townsend was good and direct. I can see him being used as a regular late substitute in the summer when opposition legs get tired.

Alli got some sernior game time, which will help his confidence and help us.

Happy for our players but I'm getting frustrated with Hodgsons policies. Whilst he may not play Rooney, Cahill and, in particular, Milner, allowing them to go home gives a competitive advantage to our rivals. Milner gets to go back to his club 2 days before our players and that gives Liverpool more time to get a key player ready for our game on Saturday. England is, in effect, choosing which clubs it supports in the premiership.

I get resting players but sending some back early and keeping others on is not right.
