If it's not "rocket science" and about "playing players in their right positions" what the fuck is he doing playing Keane on the left wing.

This is like a cut and paste of a Jol interview. Managers desk, misty eyed gaze at the portraits of yesteryear blah blah.

I always knew this squad was to good to go down ... Wasn't exactly what he was saying after the Burnley game when he "could only work with the poor squad he'd been left with".

Fucking please, say something original.

I frankly don't care about the originality of what he says, just about the fact that in 29 games he has won us 59 points, that's 1.7 points a game, which over a season gives us 64 points. Not bad!

I think the main issue regarding the impending off-season is exactly what formation Harry wants us to adopt. He's obviously experimented in the last few games playing with 3 CB's and utilised wing-backs to playing with 3 established forwards. This could well be because of the loss of Lennon to injury or genuinly he doesn't see us playing a classic 442 and thus will look to bring in players who don't necessarily fit in to what we conventionally want i.e. left winger, defensive mid etc.

I think flexibility will be key in that should things go awry then we have the squad to adapt and not just go for like-for-like.

He's talking about having a great team in 2 years time .

Ie not the season after next but the season after that .

I just hope for once we can carry a medium term plan through to completion without the board getting cold feet and bailing .

I think we will be surprise to see some names leave us this summer.
Here are my thoughts:
Jenas - Dos Santos - Bent - Bentley - Rocha - Gilberto - Zokora - Boateng - Hutton
This should generate over 30Million.
Jenas will be a surprised sale. I think he will call it time here at Spurs IMO.
I believe our buy will be Barry - Johnson - Figueroa - And a prolific scorer a la Redknapp...meaning out of the blue, a gem. Much like he did with Di Canio.
Modric will be shifted to a more attacking central midfielder with Barry probably on left and Palacios in centre and Lennon on right.
Back 4 will practically be the same except with the addition of Johnson.

I would be very happy with Scott Brown. It's all about alternatives. He is a much better all-round player than Zokora. Away from home, a central midfield pairing of Palacios and Brown would be much more robust, protect the back four well and allow Modric, Lennon and even Huddlestone etc to play. It would also allow option of 3-5-2, which I think could be a very good option away from home in cewrtain games. There will be plenty of opportunities for both Jenas and Huddlestone, particularly in home games where they have more space and there is less need for Huddlestone to cover a lot of ground defensively . I think Jenas works very hard, covers a lot of ground and is better defensively than he is given credit for. Over a season, these four players plus Modric (when not deployed on left) would provide good balance and plenty of options in central midfield.

I also hope we buy Stephen Warnock who I think is a very good left back and a leader (like Brown) - we need more of these players. I would be very happy to sign Kenwynne Jones for the right price as he is quick, strong, holds up ball well (look at his performance against Portsmouth) and is good in the air. He is young with a lot of potential and can improve his scoring rate in a team that creates chances. I believe working with Joe Jordan can help bring out the best in him.

Would like to sign a fit Downing since I think he provides a different option, works hard defensively and is a good professional. Bastos might well be a really good alternative.

I would not want to see Glen Johnson at Spurs. I think he is poor defensively and I much prefer Corluka who I think is excellent defensively and provides good balance with Lennon.

That's a really good point, often forget what a good centre forward Jordan was, and just think of him as Harry's grumpy right hand man. Hoepfully he will get hold of Pav in the summer too, and get him bullying defenders that way he used to.

Di Canio he brought in from Sheff Wed after Paul Jewell had frozen the guy out, and Di Canio had already been a class player with Lazio and Celtic.

Figueroa would be interesting, a big powerful versatil defender. I believe he is only on loan at wigwam.

Barry would be a real coup and the perfect complement to our midfield. We have energy and battling in Wilson, we have craft and cunning in Modric, we have dribbling and width with Lennon, so a player like Barry who dictates the tempo of the game and does both defensive and offensive duties would be far closer to what we need than Muntari or Brown. Whether we can attract him is another matter, his supposed support of us may well be irrelevant now that he is right in his prime and the clock is ticking after a trophyless career. However, if there was a chance that we could get him, we should.

Can't see that we'd bring in both Johnson and Figueroa. Wouldn't want Johnson, especially not at his likely cost.

Who the striker is, nobody can really guess anything other than if we don't get him early we will have to put up with a summer of being linked with any and everybody going.

As for outgoings, I pretty much agree with that but, despite the comments recently, I believe Pavlyuchenko is more likely to go than Bent, that Huddlestone is more likely to go than Jenas, and that it would be a shame to give up on Dos Santos just yet, especially after his good loan spell.

Bentley and Bent are two definite leavers IMO. Maybe Zok and Hutton too, but I'd prefer Hutton to stay. I doubt we'd sell Bale yet, but I could envisage him going on loan for the season.

No idea who Harry's got his eye on though. Downing seems an obvious choice, given the tedious regularity of our links with him. I hope to God he doesn't think of giving Owen a go though.

Unfortunately they signed him to a permanant deal in January, so we'd have to pay a fair amount if we wanted him.

Darren Gibson is on a free this summer from Utd and as far as I know he has yet to resign and isn't convinced about his prospects. He might not be quite ready for the first team, but on a free he could be an ingenious signing. He is a 6 footer, physically developed, and from what I saw v us in the final he passes the ball very well and offers the team something defensively as well as going forward. I'd still want us to sign someone for the midfield anyway, as I think completing our midfield is as important as getting that target man (we should go all out for Gignac in my opinion), but GIbson seems to have a lot of potential, and yes, I am riding the wave of his magical goal today.

I would prefer Figueroa to Johnson, only because we have about 4 RB and 2 LB. I rate Bale, He is only young and will IMO improve. We need another LB and Figueroa fits the bill.
I think if we did get Barry, it would be only because Jenas leaves.
We may cash in on Hudd too but i have a feeling that ZOK will leave and he may stay another season.

Without weighing in on the merits or otherwise of your list, how on earth do you arrive at only 10m for Barry - same as Richards, Yakubu and Brown (and Bale!) - and 20m for Young???!!!
