Is Huddlestone actually losing weight as Ramos demanded?

NotW may have got it wrong but Flatters' only bit of ITK, well that's the golden truth right there. Perhaps Hudd thought his lass was scoffing too many canapes at the after-match drinks and decided to go for the subtle 'running machine in front of the TV' approach?

Lennon and Walcott also loaned out some Life Fitness equipment earlier in the year though...

you say huddlestone doesnt get around the pitch alot, nor does tugay and he is quality..

theres very strong rumours huddlestone is heading to blackburn in january...and being a rovers fan, i think it would be a brilliant signing..his passing is second to none and he is only 20..i cant see it being between 5-7 million tho, maybe 4 million tops..

he will be your loss if he leaves you tho, hes talented, only young, and under the right management can turn into an england star..anyway, your loss hopefully our gain..

Ramos told that Huddlestone won't play in the first team if his weight is as it is now. Obviously Huddlestone will be putting in extra effort to lose weight and get back his starting place in the line-up. But how well is he doing?

Anyone got any info or update on how he is training/losing weight? Is he likely to be sold due to his lack of fitness?

so this conversation is fact now is it?!

if we got offered 5m i'd snap there hand of. i just cant see him making a top ten side. yea he has a great range of passing but hes too slow, lacks any mobility and doesnt put himself about enough to be playing in a good side. i know a lot of people on here rate him but if you cant get around the pitch at his age hes hardly going to do it at 27/28

Same could have been said of Carrick before he moved on - technically good, great range of passing but didn't seem to put himslef about enough, make enough challenges or win enough ball for a DM.

What people didn't notice was Carrick (and Hudd) are excellent readers of the game and are positionally good when screening the back four. Both players can look lazy, or like they are playing at half pace but are in fact taking up good defensive positions, make a lot of interceptions and can play passes from deep.

Hudd is the one player we have that is capable of pulling the strings in the middle of the park - he has a range of passing and speed of thought second to none in our squad. What he does need is a terrier-like box-to-box player along side him to put in the running. Whether we are willing to accommodate a player that doesn't do all his own donkey work is another matter!

If we choose to play a certain way - Hudd could play a key role as a deeplying quarterback making things tick. However if we choose to go with two combative CMs Hudd might find himself surplus to requirements,

saw him out the other week in a club in Epping with Ben Alnwick night before the Wigan game. The bloke was a complete wanker didnt wanna a photo as he would of got fined a weeks wages and just turned his back on us, never met such a prick in my life!! also think he is to immobile to ever hold down a 1st team place, any half decent team who we played knew to put him under pressure and he would crumble, if we get an offer should accept it!!!

Must have been 195?

I understand him not wanting to get himself fined a week's wages though - surely that's fair enough?

more than fair.

Pestering people for a photo is lame anyway... and a little bit gay for a 30 yr old man to ask a 21 year old man for a picture with him. I wait till they ask me.

so far only Nick Knowles has asked me.

I'd be gutted to see him go, as i think he's pure class, but part of me would be happy for him to move on just so he can show people how good he is. He's a special player but often our fans talk abut him as he's just another youngster. It'll be a while until this country produces a player with Huddlestones technical passing ability again. Personally i'd be very happy to be patient with him and wait as long as it takes to see if he can over come his mobility issues. Despite his size he's always going to be late developer as he is going to have to develop top mental attributes (ie postioning and reading fo the game) to be able to consistently play at Prem level.

surely if he would get fined a weeks wages you understand him for not taking a photo with you! He probably wouldn't anyway as he doesn't like the look of you!

Getting rid of Hudd now would be a mistake. There is still time for him to develop for christ's sake - it isn't as if he is 25...............

You are joking, right?

He is a passive passer, he only plays long balls or sideways balls. I agree with you that he has ability with both feet but you will only ever play the game at a very low tempo if you employ him in a string pulling role. He lacks too many things that are required of footballers in the modern era.

I am sorry but if we could get 5 million I would take it because currently he would struggle to make the first 11 in the championship.

No, I'm not joking, the guy has massive talent, is still young and should be given time. He's quite a unique case as his position is one that can be played by less mobile players (ie Tugay) only they tend to be older and wiser. It would be silly to throw away such a talented player so early in his career. I doubt he's on very high wages at all, so why not give him a couple of years?
