Tottenham ponder January swoop for Real Madrid misfit Isco as he considers Bernabeu future

The 24-year-old has played 90 minutes only twice for the European champions this season

Tottenham still have Real Madrid midfielder Isco in their sights.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of the 24-year-old midfielder, who has yet to decide his future with the Spanish giants.

Pochettino was interested during the summer but Isco, unsettled at the time, made it clear he wanted to start the season with Real and fight for his place.

Since then, however, the Spain playmaker – whose contract at the Bernabeu expires in 2018 – has featured for 90 minutes on only two occasions under Real boss Zinedine Zidane.

The La Liga leaders have offered the star a new deal but it is understood he will discuss the various options with his family before making a decision.

Spurs have now won five of their last six in all competitions and are looking to strengthen for a title push during the January transfer window.

Can't see Real selling anybody this window because they have a transfer ban. They are doing very well in La Liga they may as well keep what they have just in case.

I'm sure that our interest in him will help secure a much better contract at Madrid...

Their ban was reduced to just the January window so they may be more willing to sell. Also, they'd probably get more money for him with 18 months left on his contract rather than 12 months.

If they weren't top of La Liga I might agree, but winning the Championship is so important to them after all these years of barely winning it because of Barca's dominance they may as well just keep everybody just in case.

I know they got it reduced to just January but that means they can't replace Isco and Bale is still out, I doubt Real care much if they lose £10m in transfer value if it means they have a better squad to push for the league title. It's all they care about.

according to wiki his preferred position is CAM but has played deeper and occasionally on the wing or as a second striker.

think we should all just ignore this - great if happens but let's not waste time considering it.

31st Jan he will not be at WHL

not going to happen but if it does the question is whether the preferred starting attackers would be:
Kane - Alli, Isco, Eriksen or whether a fit Lamela etc. would displace one of them
