and how is he supposed to live up to his potential when Bale and Ronaldo are 1st choice? and he's competiting with £65m James Rodriguez for some game time. Isco's an excellent player and will flourish at a club where he is more involved. You're also forgetting that Real Madrid ala Chelsea have a habit of stockpiling quality players and letting them rot just so their competition can't sign them.
You do it by training harder and showing more skill and teamwork than the players that usually get selected. Then on the occasions you play, you make sure you are the man of the match. Isco hasn't been able to do that so either he is just not as good as the other players in the starting 11 or he isn't able to really fight for it.

Personally I think he looks great in Spain but I have my doubts as to how he will take to the Premier League. It is a different style of football and may not suit him so he probably wouldn't just walk into the team. He certainly would not be used to somebody like Alex Bruce sending him flying and the ref waving play on.

@sam1972 guessing by the thumbs down on my comment that I think Poch is picking the team based on merit - ie who is doing will in training etc. you have a different view? Please share if you disagree.

Alternative views make good conversation while just clicking disagree without sharing your opinion offers nothing
I don't disagree. I have no idea what you're talking about. Must have skipped past your post and hit dislike by accident.

This is true but look at sneijder and robben, both bombed out by Madrid, both went on to win the cl, sneijder was voted best player in Europe the year inter won it, yet wasn't good enough for Madrid

You realise you're talking about Real Madrid, a club who are devoid of any logic and pick players based on reputation as opposed to ability.
Certainly there's that to it, but there is also the fact that managers, being human, will have players they like and players they trust. And those players will tend to get more playing time than others. Given the ITK that has consistently said Poch wants Isco, even down to agreeing terms with both him and Madrid, I would be willing to bet that if Isco came here, he would be one of our key starters far more often than not.

Yeah I don't think anyone is disputing that, well certainly I'm not.

What I'm disputing is this:

Isco is a pretty special player, if he came Eriksen, Alli, Son etc would have a massive task getting ahead of him.
Suggesting that he would just walk into the team, he'd get into the team if he was showing that he deserves to be in the team in training, Poch wouldn't upset the squad harmony and just chuck him in because he played for Real Madrid, that's just not his style.

Where was this said?
Some of the summer ITK said that everything had basically been agreed to, but it was up to Isco to choose whether he would stay or go. He decided to stick it out at RM for another season, being told he'd get increased playing time.

Just out of interest there is an article in Marca about Isco today.

A few things that I didn't know that might be of interest.

His contract ends in 2018

He is still on the same salary as he was when he signed for RM in 2013, he is on nowhere near the salary of other first teamers.

He will either be given a new contract or sold this summer.

Zidane is a big fan and he has started 14 of 22 games this season.

Although Zidane wants to keep him, the board are not sure.

He sounds like a Poch player. He has said stuff like if he is not playing it is his fault and he needs to work harder.

He wants to stay at RM, but if he does not get the game time he may have to go.

There is some other stuff, but if he chooses to leave RM, or more likely, RM choose to sell him then I think we may be in with a chance.

By the sounds of it, big wages are not his priority. But I am of course guessing.

He would fit Spurs perfectly imo.

If they sell him then likely they will yet again forget all about our close relationship and flog him to one of our rivals like Arsenal or Chelsea

Arsenal will lose Sanchez and Ozil in the summer so may be interested, mind you they may not be too attractive with no Champions League football.
