and threats of Chinese transfers. I don't believe they bid for Ronaldo, not for a second. It comes from Mendes, his agent, and a man paid to promote his client. Rumour helps show Cronaldo is loyal to Real and will help get him another payrise.

Same for other players. So many reports are 'an unnamed Chinese club..' - uh huh.

You're probably right about Ronaldo and others using it as leverage, but I wouldn't put it past the Chinese clubs at the moment, cannot believe Tevez is getting 615k a week!

Shenhua did come out and say that wasn't true and that his wage was less than half that, but it serves their purpose to create sensational headlines as well. We'll never really know what is true.

Indeed - there's a difference between a concrete bid and throwing numbers around over Michelin starred food and drinks...

Maybe that includes under-the-table payment for game-fixing. Illegal football gambling stakes will blow your mind.

I firmly believe the league is a washing machine for lots of dirty money in the game, hence some of the transfers. The gambling and match fixing was a huge problem before, assume it still is..

My opinion vs yours at the end of the day. He's AS good as both of those 2 and he's BETTER than Sterling.

I'd say he's better than Oscar or Coutinho, but not yet up there with than Silva/De Bruyne/Hazard etc

Regardless of how useful he'd be to our PL rivals, I'm confident he'd add an extra dimension to our attack. Poch would have a big headache selecting the midfield each game though. Alli or Eriksen would probably end up playing a bit deeper quite regularly.

If hell froze over and we got him, I actually think he would be the one sitting deeper. His early years with Real had him playing where Modric plays now. He can sit and dictate just fine.

Playing there for Madrid in la liga against getafe or similar is a bit different than for us in the hectic pl

Ok, but I am confident in his ability to shield, turn and get out of tight spaces. But this is pointless since it isn't happening.

How many games do the big 2 walk all over also rans in Spain, compared to the competitive games in the pl? I doubt he'd even have runners to track in such games in Spain, wouldn't get that here

In Spain there are 3 divisions just like the Premiership, the only difference is that the Prem has 6 top teams as opposed to 3 in Spain but the point is that you can easily say both leagues have a load of middling teams and also-rans in the league especially in evidence of that this season.

Anyway regardless whether anyone thinks he'll be able to do a job playing as a sitting midfielder in this league he's not coming anyway :D

Personally, I think the people that have participated in this thread (other than to say you're all nutters for discussing it) are all nutters and I don't know why you're discussing it.

And THEN putting him in the lineup and saying how well he'd link up, who he could rotate with etc, and all that kind of absolute garbage.

It's actually quite embarrassing. Delusional.

He's not coming. Okay. But then what was your take on Klinsmann joining Spurs, Dr Freud?

Klinsman was acting purely on his id impulses; the psychological state that we associate with the irrational mind, hence him only staying briefly once his superego had given his ego a thoroughly good talking too and thus forced him to abandon his more romantic and therefore less realistic ideals.

Oh shit, ....just realised you were asking the wrong doctor for their professional opinion. Can I still have my thirty quid consultancy fee?

You deserve it after that. Excellent retort.

But no.
