He's not worth it for that price ozil signed for arsenal £42.4m who was a first team regular for Real Madrid, Yet where going to pay the same price for someone who hardly gets a game and warms the bench can't see levy doing that.

Isco's actually started quite a few games this season.

that's his last 10 game stats for Real Madrid from whoscored with the likes of ronaldo and bale in front of him and modrics beside him or Kroos who cost £24m. What would christian eriksen or dele alli stats be in the same team

Kroos had a year left on his contract. Isco will still see game time, especially with Bale injured and both Ronaldo and Benzema having frequent fitness issues. James Rodriguez, Mr £60m has only player several more games than Isco.

Just because you can't get in the Real side doesn't mean you're not good enough... clubs like Real are notorious for signing too many players in the same position or doing their best to ruin quality players careers by doing a Chelsea and signing players to spite their rivals.

People in the ITK thread saying if we sign Isco (big if) then who do we drop ?

I dont think its an issue, the question should be who will be managed/rotated/rested.

I'll leave it up to Poch to manage them but also, I cant seem to remember when Eriksen didn't play the full 95 minutes. Ali gets subbed nearly every game and replaced by Son. Son will no doubt start in cups games.

The way we are going Eriksen is gonna be run into the ground. Anyone remember the score in our last game last year ?

Great problem to have.

It may be controversial, but I think Isco would be a better version of Alli.

Cue the bad ratings ;)

Cost and his aspirations versus ours aside, where would we play him: in the midfield two, or in the advanced three? If the latter, would we have enough zip about our attacking lines with him, Alli, Eriksen and Kane?

He's world class, and his distribution would be very welcome, I'm just concerned if all these worldie passes will be regularly met with good runs off the ball from someone other than Danny Rose.

If we can get him or Alli playing the deeper role, then drop Son into a wide role, look out.

They really are just nothing alike. It isn't controversial, it just smacks of you not having the first clue what you're talking about.
I bow to your superior knowledge.

From what I have seen of Isco, he would be a better version of Alli in our team.

Apologies for posting my opinion.

Thanks

Alli has already scored more goals in the league this season than Isco ever has over a complete season, what comparisons do you see in their play? I'm not saying Isco isn't a very good player, I'd love him here - but I can't see where you've drawn the comparison from.

Nothing to apologise for, really. It just seemed like you were making a baseless comparison, intentionally inflammatory against one of our key players. I assume you were trying to be edgy, but it was nonsense.

IMO

If he ever decided to come here it would surely be with a guaranteed starting place.

Now my opinion of Poch and his philosophies, this is not something he would entertain.

Also this would be our Asprilla moment.

I don't ever think this is happening.

No one should ever get a guaranteed starting place.

Poch has already stated that you sign to train.
Any player wanting guaranteed first team place wont be signing for us.
Personally im happy with this stance.

Perhaps that's what you would do. I don't think Eriksen would be as happy playing second fiddle to Isco as a fringe player would. If Isco proves to be a better player than Eriksen, then sell Eriksen and keep the fringe player. That way we get more money, keep a good squad dynamic and have space for the likes of Edwards to come through.
Given how the team is really bonding well, selling players would risk unsettling them.

All due respect, but I was never a follower of the Freud theory. He stated "One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful" but thinking of Spurs in the 90's still disturbs me. There wasn't much that was beautiful about it.

There were lots of great things about the team in the 90's
For the first couple of years of the 90's it was nice watching Lineker goal hanging and scoring, Sheringham was great, Betting on how long Anderton would be out for this time, Ronnie the Rocket coming of the bench to score a goal and of course captain horizontal himself, Jurgan Klinsmann.
