There's been a lot of reports stating the same thing lately in regards to Isco.

They all basically state that in January Tottenham and Liverpool are expected to go hard after him.

If things continue true to their current form, I'd imagine Isco would be much more tempted by our squad than Liverpool's.

Isco is exactly the type of talent this squad needs and I'd love to see him come over in January as it could be a huge boost to the squad for the stretch run (not to mention the future as well).

Money. As usual. All that matters, as with 99.9% of players. Squads/league standings count for fuck all in this day and age.

Sorry to be so cyanical and miserable but its the cold hard truth. He will sign simply for whoever gives him the most money.

Liverpool are also not after him and never were.

we were prepared to offer a lot more for Moutinho,

if we meet his buy out clause then it doesn't matter what others offer him if he is already signed up

If you were you'd definitely get him la. Liverpool are the closest thing to Barca/Spain in the Prem imho. You set the standard to which we all aspire.

Isco is the one player I really want in January if we can make it happen.

Beyond that I'd like to see us go after a young, promising centre forward. If we can't get Isco then I'd want us to go all out and bid again for Soldado.

I was being ironic Daz. If someone subscribes to an opinion which is absurdly out of keeping with reality i.e. 'Liverpool the English Barca' then there's a good chance that they are not being entirely serious.

Not being patronizing here, but, y'know...

The type of signing we should have gone the extra yard to push through while his stock was relatively low

We missed out this past window and now many other clubs will surely be interested because he has shone so bright on the big stage, I fear we have missed our window of opportunity

Totally agree. Aubameyang is probably venturing on that territory as well. Aubame had another goal/assist last night for St. Etienne. The goal came on a nice finesse/chip shot with the outside of his foot over the keeper, and the assist came from a cross from the right. I just don't understand why we wouldn't be after him harder.

For your reference:

If we would have gone out and acquired Isco/Aubameyang this summer, this squad would be so much better from top to bottom. Youth, upside, pace, creative talent. All things we should be wanting, and both are incredibly versatile players.

It's very unfortunate in my mind.

I've read the various reports around today saying that Isco could leave if someone meets the buy out clause of 21m Euros. Is this not a buy out that applies to Spain only and not to international transfers?

They can ask for more (or negotiate for less) but if the club is happy with the buyout clause then there is no issue.
