Must admit I can't see Lee complaining about extra training either - but obviously I may be completely wrong.

Lee is a tremendous athlete as far as I can see and can't imagine he was one of the ones told to lose weight.

Unlikely. For one would be slightly dangerous from a defensive standpoint. Second after hearing his name linked with us he said Sevilla were the only team on his mind and that he was 'flattered'.

Now I wouldn't wish Flatters on anyone, can you imagine him really wanting to come to the England after being 'Flattered'. I doubt it!

Seems a bit odd as I would have said Lee & Zokora were two of the fittest of our squad. In fact I would have said Lee was the only 90min player we have. Can you imagine if Mido was still here. Would seriously interfered with his afternoon bong and pastry session at the Broxbourne Kasbah.

If true, I really like the sound of the new regime. It's always fucking amazed me the lack of proper training that english teams do compared to Italy etc.

It's gotta be bullshit about Lee! I really can't see him complaining about anything, especially to do with fitness!

Lee doesn't strike me as the kind of person to complain about double training.

Me neither. Unless it interferes with his religious doings (he's a keen church goer).

He's far too humble a man to be kicking up a stink - and since he has been picked for every game under Ramos so far I don't give this one much credence.

I'm not sure the info is saying that Lee and Zokora don't like the double training, just that they haven't taken to Ramos. I think they are seperate things. I can imagine it really, Lee seems a very understated guy and Jol was very relaxed and down to earth. Ramos seems a very different personality and maybe they just haven't hit it off. Like you all said I can't see Lee being bothered by double training sessions.

This all makes sense to me.
I think we'll offload Zokora whenever we can...I hate to admit the JD thing, but sooner or later I suppose it's going to happen...as for Lee, I think if Ramos can upgrade he'll do it, or else he's going to pop Bale there and continue to play Malbranque wide...

I'm fairly certain we'll see a left winger signed in January. It's the way Ramos plays and I'd have thought it'll be one of his priorities along with sorting out the centre of midfield.

Hopefully until then he'll realise that Bale and Lee have looked pretty good this year. If we do sign a left winger then it'll be interesting to see Bale play at the back. To be honest I've been very impressed with him at left mid so I hope he's as good if he goes to full back.

That's what I thought, at least as far as Leapy goes. However, I recall that the training report we had from Cyprus mentioned that Jol had bollocked Zokora for slacking. This is also the second bit of ITK we've had that suggests Taarabt is unhappy.

These team lunches will mean that Defoe can't dash off to spend his afternoons shopping with the missus. Could this be part of a Machiavellian plan to offload him?

Any actual proof behind these 'observations, allegations' etc or are you just putting 2 and 2 together?

But I think we've been looking for a LW for 3 years. I think we've only failed to sign one before as we are looking for quality, rather than just signing anyone. In which case, I'd say it's not that likely we'll sign a LW in Jan, as it's harder to sign good players mid way through the season. In general, no matter what the position (CB, CM, LW), I think it's going to be tough to be bring in the standard of player we need in Jan and may have to wait for the summer when clubs are more prepared to do business. Though the Russian league has just finished, so maybe Arshavin will be available.

Lee was very much a Jol signing & Zokora seemed to be a Jol man...those two make quite a bit of sense.

JD will be the most boring, talked about rumour over January...feck, it's already dull.

Zokora was far from a Jol man, I got the impression that Jol thought he was a less-than-adequate replacement for Carrick. I feel that YPLee is just too damned humble to take umbrage at Ramos' new methods - a solid, experienced player and I give him the thumbs up.

Duff + Petrov are 2 that spring to mind. I think that's it though.

I agree with the fact that it'll be harder to sign anyone in January, but I think Ramos will be more determined to get a left winger than Jol. I'm not sure Jol was ever convinced we needed a left winger, but from the way Ramos' teams have been set up before he'll look to get a good selection of wingers as soon as possible.

Well, we certainly missed a bullet with Duff.

And it comes down to the same old names, doesn't it? (With new, added, Arshavin, of course.) We have Bale, Malbranque and, theoretically, BAE; that should be good enough to see us through until the summer. As Joey points out, the Russian season is over, but Zenit must have serious ambitions of getting through to the latter stages of UEFA, if not actually winning it, and Arshavin will be cup-tied and thus a fat lot of good to us in Europe.

I honestly don't see too much happening in January.

[EDIT] TSH, I don't know how you can say that Jol wasn't fussed about signing an LM, because he was certainly very keen on Downing, for starters (Cue chorus of, 'Nooo! He's shit!'). We ended up having to make do and mend until Bale arrived simply because there is a shortage of quality LMs, and I'd sooner we had a good player out of position than some tool who happens to be left-footed in position. Rosicky is hardly a natural LM, and Diaby certainly isn't.
