South Korea's Son Heung-min said he was blocking out thoughts of being tired as he slogs it out at the Asian Cup on the back of a frantic spell of football in recent months.

Brilliant. Another injury waiting to happen. Who puts these tournaments in the middle of the season?? Oh yes. Fifa. Face palm

he shouldn't be playing in this bullshit competition, FIFA are a joke. The guy has been flogged since the start of last season playing for Spurs and Korea. Would not surprise me one bit if he too picks up a muscle injury through fatigue

It almost makes me lose interest in football. These decision makers don’t give a toss about the players health. Certain industries have laws about how many hours you can work. Football should have something similar, it can ruin careers.

Greedy sods. Pure and simple.

Er... you do realise that the tournament isn't in the middle of the season for them (and every other country in the southern hemisphere)? Not everything revolves around Europe...

Well said mate, some people cant see beyond their own shores. Or could be they're young and need to continue to educate themselves a bit more.

It should do.

Is that a serious comment?

If so, do you think that all regular football in the southern hemisphere should be played in the summer to fit in with the same schedule as Europe? With tournaments in the winter?

Good news is that Korea lost yesterday, so hopefully Sonny is on his way back as we speak!
