Every time I see one on the homepage it looks like ' which is pretty annoying!!

Cheers

Clever move by Spurs if true, the American market is growing rapidly and having another American player will in increase our popularity there considerably.

Me personally I'm not a huge fan of walker. I think he makes far to many mistakes and loses concentration very easily plus his final delivery is very poor. I certainly wouldn't sell him but if we do sign this Yedlin then I would seriously consider having him as 1st choice. He looks even faster than Walker which is saying something because Walker is very fast and judging by the World Cup his defending is sound aswell which one of walkers weak points

Don't know much about him but ...if true I can see one of the kyle's going then.
Guessing walker will be the one staying and this might help him push on to nail down that RB position.

Glad were freshing up our defence though ....was much needed!!
Just hope people don't expect us to suddenly have a super tight defence......the WHOLE team will need to buy into Pochs method and will also take time to see it come through.

Really looking forward to the start of the season now ....just wish Poch had a few more weeks ( friendlies ) to drill the team, because loads have been missing due to the world cup.

I totally agree with you. If Walker had average speed, he would be behind Naughton in the pecking order. His speed (and it is an enormous asset) bails him out over and over. I liked what I saw of Yedlin.

You would have a 21yo with around 50 games in the USA 1st choice ahead of Walker? I'm not saying Walker doesn't make mistakes but I would have a feeling Yedlin would make a few more and not have the experience to make up for them. Yes he looked good in the WC but it was only 2 sub appearances IIRC. From what I seen of Walker last season, before his injury was a player who seemed to be improving, and one of the few players who tried to take the game on and didn't hide.

I wouldn't be opposed to Yedlin at all but he would be a back up unless until he can prove his worth.

Not seen much of him but he looks like a talent much in the Walker mould: confident and fast, prone to the odd mistake. I think he's a good understudy.

That's a bit like saying his tackling ability is what bailed him out time and time again.
I don't really care what asset a player uses, as long as they do their job.

Walker was one of our 2-3 best players for the first half of last season IMO.

Yedlin is a tremendous athlete with explosive pace, but he will not start for us (at least not initially). He may contribute in attack right away (especially as an impact sub) by bombing up the flank and delivering accurate crosses. He can do that part of the game very well, but he is still quite raw defensively. His zonal marking skills in particular leave much to be desired (due to his lack of positional awareness, etc).
That said, he is an intriguing prospect, and it'd be interesting to see him develop with proper mentoring and guidance under Poch & Co. :)

I am a big fan of Walker but would like this lad to come to replace Naughton.

From what little I've seen of him, his defending leaves quite a bit to be desired; but that's what we all say about our 2 Kyles. But he seems to be able to run all day like Walker and has a much better final ball than both Kyles. Of course it has to be taken into consideration he is facing League One standard opponents all the time.

Anyway think it makes sense to sell Naughton and sign him with a couple of millions to spare.

I dont really see it like that when the times he is unable to bail out due to nievety has cost us. I would like to see more sensibility in the defence whoever it is thats first choice.

I don't know anything about Yedlin as a player but when I read that I can't help dreaming about a new Gareth Bale!
