A study on last season's results, presumably by a Scouser, show that Liverpool should have finished 2nd based on incorrect decisions being made. Boohoo.

As for us, we would have finished 3rd on 77 points. Well, we did finish 3rd on 77 points so we have no luck, good or bad. Although I'm sure that will be argued against.

That table isn't correct. They haven't multiplied Liverpool's points 5 TIMES MATE. 5 TIIIMEEES.

I guess it was also due to 'incorrect decisions' that they lost the CL final. They let Klopp pick the team!

Wow the standard of pieces appearing on BBC these days is staggering (in a bad way!)

Just when I thought I couldn't dislike Liverpool any more than I already do....

As a general rule, 'luck', good or bad, will even itself out, so each team can usually expect to finish in the spot it deserves to finish in. As Dougal says at the top of this thread, it must have been a Scouser who published this stuff, because the rest of us know how much this will feed the Dippers' victimhood mentality.

There's been several pointless articles articles of a similar nature appearing on BBC and Sky Sports websites in recent times all written from what would appear to be a Liverpool fans perspective its blatantly obvious, probably trying to apply pressure to the refs, appalling stuff. Always the victims...

What a load of BS. Don't care how many man hours went into this or how much data was compiled - It's still completely subjective analysis dressed up as factually, 100% incorrect decisions. But they can't say that they're 100% incorrect so it all gets labelled 'luck'. Pile of shite.

Just interpreting the bias that seems to underline this - Ultimately all the luck in the world wouldn't have made Liverpool 10points worse than City last year and the fact they were 25 points off them tells you everything.

Over 38 games that really isn't true. It just isn't long enough for luck to even out, especially to the extent that it doesn't change borderline positions.

ESPN is basically a Liverpool Fan site. You can see some absolutely cringe-worthy Liverpool worship on there, basicially half the stories are about their eternal greatness. I'm pretty sure the sole purpose that they concocted that scale was to get Liverpool up and Man U down, to justify their constant slavish admiration of all things Liverpool.

For a taste of their objectiveness, have a look (as one example among many) at this story,

http://global.espn.com/football/uef...eaving-jose-mourinho-and-arsene-wenger-behind

Pay special attention to the masterpiece of art they've commissioned to banner it. I probably would have puked seeing it, if I hadn't burst out laughing...

Does OPTA keep stats for who wins the toss at the start of the game? That'll tell you about luck.

They obviously failed to include the obvious lack of penalties we should've got!!
