Sounds like people are making same excuses they made for AVB.

Two stubborn managers out of their depth, well I guess we will see how this pans out as long as we don't get relegated it will be a good season.

What is your opinion on the situation?

The phrase "two stubborn managers out of their depth" comes across as somewhat unfounded and laughable to be fair.

And I bet all those "making excuses" are actually just demonstrating an inkling of patience in general.

Real question - because this could be a cultural issue - do people generally believe quotes from coaches and/or owners? Because from where I am sitting, I take everything reported in the press with a huge grain of salt - and if a manager/owner says something in the press, I assume it is because that is what they think the fans want to hear, or what they think is the "correct" answer, rather than their true feelings. I never assume the positive comments are truly indicative of their thoughts about the team or any specific player.

I see a lot of comments on the board taking quotes to heart, and it always amazes me to see such faith placed in comments made by a coach/owner.

In this particular instance, I would expect a coach to speak positively about his squad - what is he going to gain by being negative in the press? Lets say there is a player that he does not fancy - if he says that, he lowers the value of the player in any transfer negotiations, and he has now created a very awkward situation if the player does not transfer. It also ignores the basic management principle that you praise in public and criticize in private. There are exceptions, but you don't generally start your tenure with a club by talking about their shortcomings in public.

Hey Lex some good points indeed, but as we can all see from the performances thus far, few if any of the players have increased their value from what i have seen so far aside from Lloris and Mason. The rest really do not need to be mentioned in public by the coach for fear of ridicule.

Thought that Harry said from the start that the team needed to be more confident and that he would need to add one or two more experienced heads out on the pitch? Wasn't Parker one of his first signings? Not trying to rake over old coals just saying like.

People talk about patience for the manager but when he continues to play Kaboul for example, when he is so out of form, you have to question his judgement.

I'm not sure I completely buy the idea of the new manager and (some new players) needing time when other new managers and new players hit the ground running e.g. Koeman.

The back four should have been the first priority for Poch and his judgement of the abilities of the players in those positions (Kaboul, etc.), the chopping and changing as well as the questionable signings (Davies, Fazio) raise alarm bells for me. If he'd spent hours drilling the defence but we weren't creating much going forward I'd probably be much more patient.
