I originally rated this ‘like’ but on reflection I don’t like it because of poor Villa’s position. You get an informative instead. I hope they get a fair price for the guy based on his worth.

Entirely self-inflicted. Feel for the fans sure, not the club.

I don't see what the football league can do tbh. Villa are too big and too well supported to go to the wall, but they have to be made to sort things out by themselves.

Adjust financial fair play for wages to turnover of roughly 70%? Have it retrospective and a points deduction, so clubs that break it don't get promoted?
Clubs are overspending because they want to get in the prem, take that away and they should limit their spending.

There are things that can be done. I'd have a premier league bonus payment for all players contracts that if a team gets relegated the players lose it.Say 40% of any wages over £20k. So if a player on £30k gets relegated his wages drop to £26k. A £100k a week player drops to £68k.

From Villa Talk - Don't know if reliable, but he is sure of what he's passing on... similar to what we have heard our end...

''I’m privy to ITK info on this saga. I’m not going to reveal how or why but it’s legit. I’ll say after the deal.

He’s going Spurs few will be about £20m he’s already agreed personal terms. We appear to want to cash in, fee is the sticking point.

I’m devastated by it frankly, absolutely sickening again. I love this club but hate it at the same time, this malaise goes back 20 years now it started with Yorke. The likes of Cahil, Milner, Barry, Young & now Jack. Always selling out best players, from champions of Europe to a selling club it’s truly pathetic and some previous regimes have a lot to answer for.

Weve been let down continually by poor management and incompetence & cowardice at boardroom level. Spurs are a similar sized club to us, they’re streets ahead now though because for ten years they’ve been a well run club.

Hes gone this summer lads, I wish it wasn’t so but harden your hearts over it. A truly class player and potentially the most talented we’ll let go. Absolutely scandalous again from this club I’m so angry about it. We deserve so much better as a fan base

Does FFP apply to lower tier leagues in Europe? I've honestly never even thought about that before

There are many different types of ffp. Uefa have a version. The premier league have their short term cost control and the fa have their own ffp rules.

Agreed, they can’t be treated differently just because they’re a big club, that would set an awful precedent.

While they were going bananas paying huge salaries and transfer fees for the likes of Downing, Young, Reo Coker and several others, they should’ve been doing as we did and investing in infrastructure and growth plans, as well as young, hungry talent with a point to prove. Yes, the likes of Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale outgrew us, but while with us they reached higher ceilings than the ready made proven players Villa bought who had hit their ceilings. And that’s before you consider the players we did get longevity from, Robinson, Dawson, Ekotto, Huddlestone, Lennon, Jeans, Defoe.

In 2005 Villa were in a similar state to us. Now they’re about two decades behind us.

Good point- says a lot about how Levy has steered our club. He may frustrate at times, but the fucker is never going to let us go bankrupt

Totally agree. Didn't stop many of our supporters calling for levy to spend money on players. Wonder if villa fans thought they wouldn't do a leeds?

To be honest I'm sad for Villa because we are similar sized clubs Villa fans will say they're bigger because they have more league success.
I hope Levy can deal with this transfer amicabley and preferably upfront to assist their financial situation.

Seeing west ham relegated would mqke me almost as happy as us winning a trophy.

They will at some point during the next few years, it's what they do now, the important thing is that they then stay relegated and slowly rot into oblivion.

Doesn't matter so much if it's upfront. It is guaranteed income that the club can use for creditors.

I'm told they have sorted the short term issues(this months tax man and wages) but their debts are spiraling out of control. Will be a transfer embargo shortly if they fail to meet payments to other clubs, which is looking likely if they don't sell someone, and soon.

see you cheer me up in other threads, can you stop posting in the Bale 1, as it's never good news and it's breaking an old mans heart:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I'm joking by the way:whistle: I just ignore your post in that 1:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

This actually makes me sad, I don't mind Villa as a club, I feel for their fans.

You will always get a better rate up front in cash over staggered payments.

Either way I hope both parties agree...Grealish imo will be a great addition
