Just opinion, but obvs not all ITK rate him:

He is not going to get in our starting 11 so maybe its best to go to a mid table team

I personally think if he's bought, he's going to play. We haven't seen who might be going yet, but it's even more likely if Sissoko goes.

Serious question how many people have genuinely seen grealish enough to suggest he can replace dembele in a cm 2? Yeah I get maybe we’ll change system but as things stand there’s very little evidence that he’s capable of playing that role

He’s no Dembele. But few players would dare to claim to be.

Why assume he's being bought for that?

They have completely different skill sets so you can't really compare them. Sometimes the things that Dembele can do are essential and sometimes completely redundant. Grealsih would bring something we don't really have though in that he moves the ball quickly and accurately and can also carry the ball forward and beat players.

And Villa were always on the telly last season. Sure plenty of people have seen Grealish.

Indeed. I’m between my job, my wife, my chores, my children, my social life, my close family, Spurs and my other sporting and recreational interests (occasionally and mercifully including sleep) I have plenty of time and regularly watch sh*t teams in the championship - my wife actively encourages me, in fact ‘you don’t watch enough football my love, and on that note, aren’t Villa on the TV?’ is often heard in my household.

As such, my view of Grealish is in no way based on crap YouTube videos and a series of poorly informed hyperbolic internet posts

Which is nice

Only joking...just felt like venting about my lack of free time for some reason

I also have a lack of free time. And a wife who supports Villa. So you’ve accurately described my life.

This is such a bad argument. Poch wanted class players as Toby and Wanyama but he also wanted Sissoko and Janssen.

No it isn't. There's 110 pages because it's a player our manager wants, that we seem to be getting, therefore it warrants a lot of discussion. I didn't say it's 110 pages because he must be class if Poch wants him.

Or, people taking time to watch the team that Onomah was loaned to.

I’m not assuming anything but I’ve seen plenty of posters suggesting it, same as they were with Barkley. If I were to assume anything it would be that he’s being brought in as an am

I have no doubts about his ability on the ball more his defensive diligence to play in a cm 2

Not sure anyone is suggesting he can.

I’ve seen plenty of posts suggesting it

You’ve only got to look at the quote in the top post of this page to see someone suggesting he might be being brought in to compete with winks to play next to a dm

The most interesting thing for me is the evolution in Jack's play from an attacking MF playing off the striker to a deeper lying CM who has been given responsibility as his sides play maker. I must say he is a work in progress in the latter role but showed tenacity and a good passing range in Villa's games. He also showed a fair bit of unselfishness and maturity. I think we like him for his flexibility and prefer him over the ex Norwich lad for this reason. Plus he is a little bit more dynamic then Maddison on the counter attack. It will be interesting if we do buy him and compare progress with Maddison next season. Something tells me Grealish is a little bit tougher, he'll scrap for left overs and will cope with the PL better then Maddison. However, he is no Dembele if that is what people are thinking.
