Villa are desperate for cash. Personally I don’t want Grealish but I can see him being available for less than you think. Villa have today narrowly avoided going in to administration.

Man I disagree with that.. Maybe in the giant scheme of things with what City and United will pay for players but when we're talking about having to get creative on our CM target, I think 20 mil out of the budget here is a major mistake.
In a vacuum, sure. But it's possible that the CMs that we like are either in the range we can still afford (30-40M) or way way too expensive (Savic) and sitting in the 90-100M range. That extra 20M spunked on Grealish doesn't matter if we don't rate anyone in that 60-70M range.

Of course you struggle, you obviously don't rate him but in the last two years we have lost three of those four for getting on for at least half a season and more with injury so the question that begins with "if healthy" must be hypothetical.
It's not even that I don't rate him I just see it as completely unnecessary and not even close to a priority. We're going to dish out 20mil on a pure backup attacking midfielder, which we already have 2 of. But are going to get "creative" on our starting CM. That is so concerning! How are people missing that?

Just got a feeling about the kid. Bundles of talent and seemed to have sorted his attitude out. Add to that Poch to work his magic. I'm certainly not 'meh' over this one, whilst well aware what else we need.

Totally agree. Maybe why we didn’t pursue Barkley.

Looked it up, Jack is signed under the STELLAR FOOTBALL agency. Same as Bale, Trippier, Gylfi, llalana etc.

We've been searching for an Eriksen backup for a couple windows now. This seems to be it.

Seen Villa alot this season. I would be devistated if Graelish was our option. He is far from the quality we need.

To be fair I expect a lot of Spurs fans have watched more of Villa than they usually would've because of Josh.

Of all the names being mentioned Grealish is the least awe inspiring. If it is him just have to hope Poch knows what he's doing.

Grealish could be an astute signing if he pulls his socks up (both figuratively and literally)

And if he sorts out his barnet. He can pick a pass and glide past players with ease. Doesn’t seem to move very quickly but just gets past his man. Definitely been playing in CM the few times I’ve seen him this year. Does seem like a bit of a plum but hopefully can become moulded into a cultured player.

He's a decent enough creator:

Yeah but only scores once in a blue moon. Eriksen both creates and scores. One of Grealish’s main weakness is his inept shooting.

It’s really a case of penny pinching when it comes to picking Grealish over Pulisic. We’ve ‘apparently’ known the Pulisic release clause for a long time and were prepared to pay it.

You’ve Pulisic, a young exciting commodity who’s extremely fast, can cross, shoot and play right across the 3 behind the striker... he also plays for a very good German side and has experience of playing top flight domestic and European football.

What’s Grealish got in his locker? He was the new kid on the block 3-4 years ago and looked very promising... he then wasted a couple of years being a spoilt brat only to now, look like he’s got his head back in the game. I commend him for sorting out his attitude and knuckling down but we need to remember that he’s only done this in the championship... there’s a whopping difference between this division and the EPL.

There’s no comparison between them.

Obviously I’m not ITK and not claiming to be as such but I just messaged a mate that’s a big villa fan and grew up with a few of the youth team back in the Gabby days to ask about him.

His words that he saw Grealish’s uncle last week who said Utd were leading the race and that he prefers there :shifty:

Pinch of salt and all that but he does genuinely know quite a few of the players
