He looks complete pony from that imho.
Think he looks good in this - doesn’t seem too flashy, runs hard and fast but with his head up and ball close to his feet, great posture(y) some lovely passing, think this was the game villa broke a record for most dribbles in a game - Grealish completed 10 of the 26 (y)

Well, if the price people are quoting (20m) is correct, the I don’t see the reason to be against it? We could possibly sell sissoko for approx. the same money and end up with a younger, better player more suited to our style of play and finally we might have a backup for Eriksen. I don’t know who you can get as backup to Eriksen who’s better for the price of 20m (if that is indeed correct)? Also potential is there to become more than a backup player.

He thought the same about Osvaldo and Sissoko :cautious::barefoot:

Newcastle fans often seemed to complain about sissokos attitude, and mostly that he was lazy and uninterested unless they were playing a glamorous match.

So Certainly not the same player under Poch. Never been lazy in our team.
Probably a large improvement in attitude, work rate and tactical awareness. But roadblock in all other areas

We literally have an academy full of talented players who could do the same or similar jobs. Why don't we put time into jack roles or Sam shashoua at number 10 instead? Then we don't have to pay a 20m fee for a player who won't be first choice. We also have about 5 really promising central midfielders and a few good wingers as well. It never makes sense to me, these guys have so much potential yet we ignore them in favour of signing players who don't have any attachment to to the club and aren't good enough to win a starting spot. Legitimately, Grealish wouldn't get on the bench if everyone was fit; what's the point?

People complaining that Onomah isn't getting a shot should be furious at this. I don't even think Onomah is good enough but I think this is such a waste of the budget.

He’s a niche player in that if we had Basketball, American Football, Rugby rules he would be great. Bring him on to chase the ball and close the opposition down. A bit like Ward-Prowse or Shaqiri, bring them on for set pieces then take them off again lol. Sadly, the main parts of what’s expected from him - passing, running with the ball and decision making in decisive areas still alludes him to this day.

My friend is a Villa season ticket holder with an inside line. He just text me saying Grealish is coming to Spurs. For what it's worth he doesn't think he's near our level. ❤️?

He's bit great at all but I don't think he's been as bad season gone to deserve the wild critique.

I've seen much worse in recent times from the N's, janssen, or llorente,

Onomah is a different player he is potentially a Dembele replacement or cover both Dembele and Dier. Grealish is cover behind the main striker.

They play in different positions.

Different positions, can't see how that could make anyone angry. Bit like saying signing Grealish pushes KWP down the pecking order.

He’s more of a Zokora type player, he has some good attributes but he’s just doesn’t suit or tippy tappy intricate style of play.

Yes, the latter mentioned players are horrific... Janssen looks like a chainsmoker who’s never trained a day in his life, always looks knackered after 20 mins lol

The answer to your 2nd question is no....otherwise we wouldn't be buying Grealish ?

When all our am’s + striker is fit and assuming we get Martial how does Grealish even get on the bench, let alone start? I am also assuming any ideas of switching to 3 at the back are going out the window. I just don’t get it. I really can’t see him getting any game time, certainly not enough to further his development.

Right, had a few drinks now after hearing the latest ITK, and time to reflect.

I'm not sure whether I'm onboard or offboard with this signing.

It does feel a bit like a Levy shit-sandwich special, dressed up as a paramount Poch signing with potential.

If Poch was given the choice between Grealish and Isco, he'd clearly sign Isco. Levy, would sign Grealish.

Back to the wine...
