Alli cost 5 mil!! Not freaking 20 and we needed attacking midfield depth back then. I don't think we do now. Do people forget Lucas Moura could hardly get a game when we were playing in 3 competitions?
Alli was 18 at the time and at the time was considered a risk. Grealish is 22 and clearly seen as less of a risk but still as risk. This what being brave in the window is.

Moura could hardly get a game because he was severely lacking match fitness when arrived. Although I'm not sure the point you are trying to make here.

My point is I don't see when this guy is ever going to play, so its a waste of money.

You will all rue the day we get told we were priced out of better central midfield options (our by far biggest need) when you all advocated blowing 20 million of our budget on our 6th attacking midfield option. That is my entire point. I don't see what is so difficult about understanding that. Hercules literally freaking said we were going to have to get creative on CM but we're going to splash decent money (for Spurs) on this kid.

My point honestly has nothing to do with what I think of the player as I've admitted I don't know much if anything. It has to do with this teams needs and the allocation of the limited resources we have.

baggins on coys, more than 14 000 post and i dont think a bullshitter: My son, who works for Bet Fred, has just called me and said that one of his colleagues has a contact who works at Spurs and has told him that Grealish has an "appointment" at Spurs tomorrow. Appointment might be a chat with Poch and a look round the training centre or it might be a medical, my son didn't find out. He did say that the odds on him joining Spurs have dropped from 9/1 to Evens though. Just thought I would pass it on with all the Grealish info floating around at the moment.

posting it here as im unsure of the validity

£20m in this climate is nothing, equivalent to £10m-£15m a couple years ago, similar to the price we bought N'jie for.

Again, you don't know the market for that CM. This 20M may not be the difference in missing out on a target. Now, if someone comes available for 50M and we can't meet that because we spunked 20 on this guy, then you can argue it. But until that happens there's no argument to be made.

I know it's a cliché and ultimately nothing we don't already know, but I work in Birmingham and two of my best mates are villa fans. Both have said they've heard that grealish's dad has been telling everyone he's joining us

Probably just some dumb Brum wum chum

I don't want to buy a Eriksen backup at all thats my point. Lamelas best position is at the 10. Let him get those backup minutes. Its an unnecessary portion of our budget going out to an unnecessary player.
I don't know much but I really doubt signing a 20mill player would have any significant affect on our budget .

20mil in any climate is still significant to Tottenham whether you guys like to admit or not.

Is Poch back from his vacation yet? I sort of assumed he would still be on a beach in Barca for a few days more.
