If Norwich's James Maddison is going to be sold for £25 million, how much does that make Grealish worth?
Stevo985 said:
About double that to be honest.

But in reality, we should be using that as our minimum. If anyone offers below this, then they should be laughed at.
sne said:
Probably about the same, only everyone know we are desperate for cash so will try and exploit that with insultingly low offers.

maddison has better stats meaning that anyone who hasn't watched the pair of them (which is a lot of people) will almost automatically say jack is worth less

i think jack has the higher ceiling of the 2 players so as a benchmark is worth more

This Maddison transfer might be really useful to us in a few ways. Grealish is the better player, and has some prem experience already. Plus the clubs rumoured to be interested are in the top 6. Meaning his value should be greater than Maddison’s.

If we do sell him for less than what Maddison is going for, then that will tell us an awful lot about our financial situation.

This all depending on whether or not he is sold of course.

Maddison 2017 season : Appearances 49 Goals 15, Assists 11, Minutes played 4112

Grealish 2017 season : Appearances 34 Goals 3, Assists 8, Minutes played 2361

Norwich only scored 49 goals, Maddison scored or created over half of them..

Anyone who thinks we are getting 40 million is mad

Hell if you take Grealish entire career for us his stats don't even match one season of maddison

Grealish total premier league, championship & cup : Appearances 108 Goals 9, Assists 14, Minutes played 6268

Is it more than one player that has no desire to go there? Sorry to be a pendant but “players” suggests more than one but “has” suggests only one.
It is a quandary. I can only imagine it has you swinging between the two options.

*sorry but couldn't leave that malaprop hanging...oops, did it again.

Him being on holiday is neither here nor there. It's all about agreeing the fee. Nothing more to it than that. Again the time is ticking away as far as Villa are concerned

There may be other issues communicating with them as well...

@septicsac what do you disagree with mate? Ccv had a very good loan at ipswich. Admittedly i didn't watch too much of villa but other posters suggested they played a bit route one which wouldn't really suit edwards in my opinion.
Sorry fat fingers on the phone, removed same

Tottenham ready to wait on Jack Grealish in bid to exploit Aston Villa's cash crisis

Spurs boss Pochettino believes Grealish can compete for a starting spot in his side

Spurs are set to keep Aston Villa sweating over Jack Grealish's future as they bid to exploit their cash woes.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wants starlet Grealish to compete with Dele Alli.

Grealish, 22, is set to be sold as Championship Villa need to raise funds to help out embattled owner Dr Tony Xia.

Villa are looking to raise as much as £40million for Grealish after seeing Leicester agree a deal worth up to £25million for James Maddison from Norwich.

But Mirror Sport understands Tottenham are not rushing to bid big while Villa are digging their heels in.

Villa owner Xia is after fresh investment and recently had to get a loan to broker a deal with HMRC over an outstanding £4.2m tax bill.

Now Spurs may wait to see how Villa cope at the end of the month, when they are due to pay all their staff on June 29, before their next move.

This so sounds like a Daniel Levy play.

I've not seen enough of Grealish to know if he's a better player than Maddison but last season's stats are hard to ignore.

Maddison had a helluva season for Norwich so if he's going for 25m then I don't see how Villa can get anywhere near demanding 40m.

Grealish and Gomes it would seem, 1 of them to replace Dembele

I cant believe this is the backing that Poch meant for next level, lets hope there is a surprise as this summer is not looking any better than last despite all the excitement from some of the ITK....!

I'd go re-read all his quotes before using the same tired line about 'backing' ...

What realistic and available player would you like us to sign to upgrade at cm? Because from what I've seen there aren't any top class CMs available that would pick us over others interested.
