Villa most probably working out how to distribute the Grealish fee and don't want a big media announcement that they've got hold of some cash at this precise moment.
If it was 100% done it would be announced. No doubt their are niggley little things that will need to be sorted but you can imagine the agreement is probably 95% there. I would imagine there are reporters at Villa's preseason and if Grealish was no where to be seen you would have reports about it or a story faking an injury.

Villa's final day in Portugal today, as confirmed by Jack on his Instagram, accompanied by a gratuitous shot of his abs.

If anyone needs me I'll be having a lie down.

One of the things I like most about Grealish is that he tries to stay on his feet when the vast majority of players would fall over to buy a cheap free kick. The number of times you see him go through gaps and get away from players trying to tackle him is incredible. They invariably end a hauling him down 20 yards further up the pitch which is way more useful that a free kick in your own half. He's got a great all round skill set and plenty of feistyness as well and he's not afraid to put his foot in either. I'd confidently predict him in the England set up next year if we land him.

I'm getting pretty bored of this Grealish negotiation now.

I hoped it'd be a player we'd bring in early for the start of preseason, but it's looking more and more likely it'll be dragged out for weeks, possibly until deadline day...again...
Beginning to reek of the Barkley saga. Different circumstances I know, but could see a similar result.

Trix has already suggested that the details are perhaps now waiting on Villa/financials etc - he posted this info yesterday in the itk thread.

Well, that's good....Liverpool is alot like Heathrow just less to do, less to see, much larger and even more depressing

If it was 100% done he wouldn't still be training with Villa.

Like I said yesterday, could happen any minute, or equally drag on a while. Neither outcome would surprise me knowing the financial juggling Villa are having to do on a daily basis.

Really? I don’t think it’s anything like it.

We held back on Barkley because, IMO, we were unsure of his injury situation and how he’s recover from it.

Frankly I think we were right to hold back weren’t we? Talented player but god knows how he turns out.

This is just a waiting game - I’d guess Levy thinks Villa’s creditors will force their hand meaning we get a better price

Just the thing of we're lowballing thinking we have leverage and the selling team just won't give in.
