Yeah this is all getting a bit tedious now to be honest. The fact that we can't wrap up a deal for a Championship player who wants to join us from a club in financial dire straights in a timely manner tells you all you need to know. It's detrimental. Find it hard to accept all the stuff about Levy getting the best deal possible and not compromising. Really don't understand how the insistence on shaving a few percentages off the fees involved is better for the club than getting targets in early.

This.

Poch himself said earlier that the most vital part this window is getting the players early so they can get a proper pre season, yet here we are dicking around.

Hasn’t done anything yet to warrant an expensive price.
No, not yet he hasn’t, but he only 21 and been there a year. Monaco are not looking to sell and nobody is looking to buy. When he has his brake out season, which won’t be far off considering his current ability and potential, his price will sky rocket and then Monaco will sell. It’s their business model. I wasn’t suggesting he was going to be sold now, just that when he is it will be for a lot.

I'm starting to doubt he will have that breakout that many (including myself) thought he would. I'm starting to doubt his athleticism for the very top. Ligue 1 is a fast league and he looked a step behind when I watched him. Perhaps he just needed to bed in and we will see that this year.

I still remain unconvinced. I said as much last year in the thread linked to him when he was still at Anderlecht. He seemed to have stalled for a couple years after all the very early hype. Then last year he put away a couple long distance shots and everyone lost their mind again even though his overall play still left a lot to be desired.

Then he made his move to Monaco and not a lot changed I was actually disappointed at how little he featured. That said I’m not going to write him off but this year is a pretty big prove it year as he should be bedded in by now.

The sceptics on here I believe will be eating their words in a years time. As said before in the football data and scouting circles Grealish is regarded as the most effective player outside of the Premeier League in the UK alongside Cairney. Surely the WC taught us one thing those players who have performed in lower leagues stand a good chance of progressing to international football for England. This signing excites me and if Grealish is not a full international within 18 months (barring injury) I will donate £250 to SC!

I posted this in early 2016 about Grealish and Adnan Januzag - stand by every word. Every time I watched them I was very impressed with their intelligence and talent. And for players so young, they are physically pretty imposing as well. Perfect Poch players.

He was the new Joe Cole under Tim. The kid can play. If he works in a system and is given the ball, his intelligence, passing and movement and final delivery is worthy of a top 4 team. And we can get him for cheap when they go down. The kid is a class player. Grealish can be an upgrade on Lamela - he works hard and can assist. With the kind of assists he used to create for Villa - Harry can probably score more than 30. With his cutting inside he fits perfectly into Pochs 4-2-3-1. If we can get him for about 8-10 million that would be an absolute steal. The kid can play.

Ditto for Januzaj - his career has been ruined by that idiot LVG. His skill, trickery, work ethic and delivery at such a young age means that the only way is up. We wont get Januzaj but he's a player as well.

Both of them are exactly the kind of players Poch can develop into work class. And they are familiar with the EPL - it wont require a couple of seasons of bedding down.

While obviously a highlights reel in Youtube is not the basis of assessment, it is a quick reflection of his talent.

It's a no brainer really Jack's agent. Pochettino has history for developing good young English players, anyone would be a fool to argue that point. I want him at Spurs. Think he'll go on to be a great player. Will look forward to seeing Jack soon, Jack's agent!

A quick analytical response indeed Self Entitled Millennial With A Penchant For Responses That Simply Add No Value To The Debate/Discussion.

I'm sure if/once Grealish signs, your observation on Poch's talent development skills will prove accurate Self Entitled Millennial With A Penchant For Responses That Simply Add No Value To The Debate/Discussion.

Don't Be a Fool. I was clearly bantering.

Think he'll be a brilliant signing for us and will gladly have him at Spurs. Don't Be So Sensitive.

(y) - yeah fair enough. It's just that when I posted that original message back in 2016, lots of people were disagreeing with it with no backup argument, so touched a footballing nerve. A healing video

He played CM for the entirety of last season, but okay.

As far as I’m aware - that’s not the case. He may be ‘labelled’ as having played CM on websites but he was always part of a midfield 3 as the CAM when he played. My point was more that I don’t think he will be our Dembele replacement as some our anticipating. I can’t see him starting next to Dier or Wanyama for example.

I think it would make perfect sense him playing in the Dembele role, he's box to box and he would free up Ericksen to do his best work further up the pitch, he can join in and get back if needed. It's quite exciting, the thought of a well Poched Grealish and Ericksen giving oppo defences an absolute nightmare(y)

You do realise that each percentage being shaved off is worth the average price of a house in the UK roughly, maybe more?

In a double pivot maybe, but not as the number 6 in a 433- I’d worry about our defensive vulnerability

People are panicking about Jack Grealish and the fact we haven’t got it over the line yet. A lot of the press articles I’ve read suggests that we are trying to get it done by the 21st July. I expect it to take a massive step forward this week.
