Probably not read only worthy so I’ve put it in here rather than the itk thread as it’s more of the same

Storts on Grealish from COYS

Pretty confident he's coming to us - heart is set on the move. Poch convinced him in and his Dad in Barcelona supposedly. Just about Levy getting the best deal as possible, Villa are in disarray

Would really like him in by the end of the week. Don't know when the squad travels to America, but if he misses out on that trip, it will take that much longer to integrate him into the squad - really an inexcusable missed opportunity.

Might be excusable if it costs us say £5m (figure plucked out of the air)

Villa have no room to be playing hardball like that. If they are, then we should call their bluff and drop Grealish altogether as they’ll crawl back to us in a few weeks willing to take anything. To say they need money is a major understatement.

When do we travel to America? Would be good to have him there ideally. Although as long as he’s staying fit it isn’t essential

Yeah, let's suddenly drop our interest in a young talented player going for less than his market price....makes perfect sense.

Whilst this is frustrating, because Grealish will take time to adapt to Poch's methods and expectations, given other ITK, it may be that "end of the month" suits Villa best for financial / cash flow reasons.

The more we hear, the more I wonder if Levy has agreed a significant first payment, with greatly reduced subsequent instalments, and a lot of clauses triggered only if Grealish hits certain performance targets. DL may have decided this is the best financial deal for Spurs too.

For those who say a large first instalment is not part of Levy's MO, I note Pleat's comments about the Dele Alli deal (my emphasis in bold) albeit for a lower fee than Grealish's likely will be:

It was the last day of the January window when Tottenham bought him [Dele] and the deal included an immediate loan back. It was to Tottenham’s credit that they moved quickly and the chairman admirably agreed to pay all the fee on the nose.

He wants to come to Spurs and doesnt seem like other clubs are interested in him at the moment. If a club in Villa's position is stupid enough to be playing hardball, then yeah, dropping him does make sense as we could get him for even less.

What is his market price exactly? Didn't Maddison just go for pretty much the same price? People are making it seem like Levy is making Villa squeal and I don't see any evidence of that. More than 20 mil as I believe Trix had stated previously, isn't exactly making Villa really suffer.

Let us know all the details of the price and payment plans of both deals and maybe we can argue that. Also their perceived values. I know nothing on these deals so would be grateful in order I can make a better judgement. (y)

End of the month...joker.
The bolded part really pisses me off.
I admire everyone who has faith that the delay is due to Villa (financials, PR, whatever) It always is.
This will be our statement window....

Would be great if he could join the USA tour as he will get good game time with all the WC players having a break.
