They'd have to buy 32Red out of their current deal and have to adhere to rules that stipulate that you cannot pay extortinate over the odds/ market rate for your own company/ related company for a sponsorship deal. I believe there are rules in place stopping a football team getting unfair FFP loophole benefits such as this.

Even with a cancellation of the 32Red deal, a new sponsor for the shirt and a sponsor for Villa Park I'm certain that they'd still fall short by a substantial amount

Steve Bruce may just be saying what the fans want to hear, they will have to sell for ffp and if only one club are in for a player that has a large bearing on price.
Plus his (Grealish) head has probably been turned by all this talk and he may not be happy if it all falls through

What are they going to Sponsor to make up the numbers? Villa already have a shirt sponsorship deal so unless these new guys come in, buy 32 Red out of their current deal, then conjur up a further deal amongst themselves and change shirt sponsor all over again in the space of two weeks before the season starts they won't be able to do it before the first instalment is required for FFP.

They'd also have to recall/ print and remake all of their shirts that have the current sponsors on it which would further set them back. Unless they have something up these sleeves I can't see that happening in such a short space of time

New rules have come into play saying that the sponsorship money for shirts and stadiums etc need to be at a relatively realistic market rate I read the other day (a fans website not an official website however).

If this is the case they'd still be a fair old slab away from what they need and no other player in their squad can generate those kind of funds except Grealish

The way I understand it, if they throw money at the problem they'd only deepen their FFP issues.

FFP is covered purely by footballing income, Concessions, Merchandise, Sponsors & any other way of generating income through the club. That's how it works I'm sure.

So could Villa in theory sell Jack Grealish along with a couple more of their players this summer, wipe their FFP slate clean and then go out and spunk £100m on players to try and achieve promotion again? If that's the case and this new investment is sorted surely it's better for them to sell their top 4-7 stars now, get that £40m in and then go on a splurge and once again hope for the best.

It would seriously be dicing with their future though as if they didn't get promotion they'd owe it all over again and double plus change

Grealish isn't 18 anymore, in a couple of months he'll be 23! He can't keep playing the prodigy card much longer he needs to step up a level to show his worth now and if he can make the grade.

If he's as talented as he is and would be happy to stay at Villa, missing out on a move to a top 4 club when, realistically looking at the midfields of Man City, Man U, Liverpools and the other two competing teams for those slots, only us and the Woolwich snides offer him anywhere near that kind of possibility.

With Dembele on the wane, Sissoko simply not Spurs quality and Eriksen needing an understudy to add a bit of beef to the numbers, Grealish has hit the jackpot with a team like Spurs coming in for him. If he'd rather choose a half empty Villa park with trips to Rotherham over the possibility of playing the likes of Real Madrid then it'll be a chance he'll probably never get the chance to take up again (not to mention a fast track into the England team in a position we are crying out for in the best moment for the national team in 28 years) he'd be absolutely crazy not to take this moment now
