The investors can't inject money directly to fix ffp, but what stops them offering a huge sponsor deal. That way the money from that deal does count towards boosting revenue and they don't have to sell anyone. No?
Not saying that they now don’t need to sell, but Steve Bruce was essentially saying they won’t be held to ransom and forced into selling cheap now and will demand a premium ... unless he has no idea what he’s talking about, it sounds like the goalposts have been moved?
What are they going to Sponsor to make up the numbers? Villa already have a shirt sponsorship deal so unless these new guys come in, buy 32 Red out of their current deal, then conjur up a further deal amongst themselves and change shirt sponsor all over again in the space of two weeks before the season starts they won't be able to do it before the first instalment is required for FFP.
They'd also have to recall/ print and remake all of their shirts that have the current sponsors on it which would further set them back. Unless they have something up these sleeves I can't see that happening in such a short space of time
they might do what City did once the FFP come into it, just sponsor the stadium and rename it
The investors can't change how the FFP works can they? It's only club income that counts so having them wouldn't stop it, as any invested money doesn't go towards it right?
FFP is covered purely by footballing income, Concessions, Merchandise, Sponsors & any other way of generating income through the club. That's how it works I'm sure.
YesAnyone else not really fussed about signing him now?
I thought from earlier ITK the fee has been agreed it’s been down to Villa deciding on structure and when it’s best for them to push it through bc they are juggling things?
Grealish isn't 18 anymore, in a couple of months he'll be 23! He can't keep playing the prodigy card much longer he needs to step up a level to show his worth now and if he can make the grade.People are worrying too much about what Villa want. Bottom line is the player needs to be in the Prem to further his career, and a CL club even better.

If he's as talented as he is and would be happy to stay at Villa, missing out on a move to a top 4 club when, realistically looking at the midfields of Man City, Man U, Liverpools and the other two competing teams for those slots, only us and the Woolwich snides offer him anywhere near that kind of possibility.
With Dembele on the wane, Sissoko simply not Spurs quality and Eriksen needing an understudy to add a bit of beef to the numbers, Grealish has hit the jackpot with a team like Spurs coming in for him. If he'd rather choose a half empty Villa park with trips to Rotherham over the possibility of playing the likes of Real Madrid then it'll be a chance he'll probably never get the chance to take up again (not to mention a fast track into the England team in a position we are crying out for in the best moment for the national team in 28 years) he'd be absolutely crazy not to take this moment now
Commentators say similar about kane and winning trophies.
If he wants to show villa loyalty and not push for a move i'd respect that more than if he did.
Kane is playing for a team competing in the Champions League and for the Premier League title, not to mention that he plays for a team that gave him club exposure enough to become a Semi final Golden Boot winning captain at a World Cup and get touted as one of the highest valued players on the planet. Grealish will be going to places like Rotherham & Hull next season if he doesn't make the move for whatever reason and it doesn't materialise. Both are completely different scenarios for a young, hungry footballer with aspirations to fulfill their potential.
Just depends if a deal can be done and depends on what Grealish wants out of his career when he looks back on it all I guess. Potential worldwide stardom if all of the potential and pieces fall into place or a potential career that sees him struggle in the lower leagues and never make it. It could go either way for him but at Spurs he gets his chance. It all depends on his ambitions, aspirations, ability and motives I guess
