Listening to Bruce's comments last night it is clear Chelsea are not in the frame.... Why else would he mention Champions league football?
Can't see why they would be. They aren't short in that position. Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Barkly, Hudson-Odoi, Fabregas...

I can only assume it's some lazy journo making it up as a result of that cuddle he got from John Terry at Wembley.

VillaTalk saying he can’t be leaving because he didn’t give a farewell speech in the vain of Francesco Totti leaving Roma.

Well. A low risk guess. If he is getting sold then he would have a medical within 24hrs. Otherwise this post will simply be ignored afterwards anyway.

We really seem to be a pain to deal with. We might somehow get this through but probably not without fucking up another club and group of agents...

I can see why we are hesitant if they are looking for 30mil plus when Madison went for much less.
Seems this one needs the pressure of deadline day to force some compromise.

Villa still think of themselves as a PL level club I guess, so have a different fee threshold to other Championship clubs.

I think £25m is the magic number.

Business is business. There's no room for sentiment.

You don't make it easy for yourself in the future if no one is even bothering dealing with you because you are the pain in the arse.
Its rarely that a club is dependant on one certain club/target.

I'd like him more if he pulled his socks up in all honesty. I don't know if he rates himself too much to be prepared to have the capacity to want to learn the important stuff.

Not just you, but honestly this bollocks about socks has gone on long enough.

Did anyone ever moan about this guy wearing his socks down?

Some players like to wear their socks down, some players like to wear their shirts untucked, some prefer long sleeves, some prefer short, some turn their collars up, or add plus signs between the numbers if they wanted 9 but got 18...

It's a football team, not an army regiment. If it makes them feel more comfortable to play like that, that's all that matters.

I'm not sure many people will be shedding any tears over agents not getting what they want...

Yeah but at the end of the day you're dealing with people and if you piss everyone off that's ultimately not good for business

But this idea that Levy pisses everyone off is a bit of a myth imo. He's a hard negotiator for sure but he's trying to get the best possible deal.

I would argue that there shouldn't be so much emotion involved. Jeremy Peace is a good example of a man that couldn't keep his head in talks with Levy. If he had then he'd have got 20-25m for Berahino instead of keeping an unhappy player, later flogging him to Stoke for 12m.

Talksport 'journalist' (Moose) has just stated tha Grealish is having a medical at a Top London club tomorrow.
He followed up by responding to a question about the club being Spurs, by stating he wouldn't disagree

or words to that effect...

I doubt this all is a myth with rumours about that coming year after year.
Especially in sports there is loads of emotions involved and you are just more happy to go the easy then the hard way.

I am not saying Levy should just pay clubs what they are demanding but sometimes paying a few million more can save you money and trouble in the long run.

Just an example: Club X is targeting N'Koudou and player Y of another club as a replacement.
Are you preparing for a fight over months to get a deal done with our chairman or do you go the easier way?

Desperate times if we are believing anything on Talksport.

if you want a player who is managed by them.....

While this is a completely valid point, making perfect sense, and with there being absolutely no chance of a sensible argument against it...

fuck agents. Fuck them with a big, pointy, nail-studded stick. Fuck them all, fuck them often and fuck them hard. They are a large part of what has ruined football.

With regards to negotations you have to factor in which other clubs are chasing him though. If say Leicester had a bid accepted I think we would possibly match it. I don't see any news of other clubs offering more than us so why would Levy not squeeze as much as possible out of the deal? He coughed up for Sissoko when he was off to Everton so he does pay up if he feels a deal is worth doing. We're the clear front runner for Grealish so of course we'll drag it out and get the best deal possible.
