No, but we signed Dele for 5mil so it was worth the punt. 30mil is not a fucking punt.

That's not really an answer to the question.

It's a case of whether you think he'd be worth paying a league one (now league two) club £30m for him, if you knew he would be good.

That's the position the club will be in. Of course they don't know, but they will need to make a call based on what they think he will be like

I'm just going to try to avoid this discussion cause I'm at work and it will take up my whole afternoon haha.

So wait is Levy tight or is he spending too much on a championship player?

It’s getting hard to keep up with what agenda we’ve got going on in which thread

I think the point is if he wasn’t so tight ( or more specifically imo always trying to play games), he would already be our player at a lower fee than we are likely going to be paying now.

I like the look of him but is he realistically going to get much playing time this season. Only have to look at the limited use of Moura last season, especially as we keep hearing he's not a first choice signing.

Levy must be pleased if Poch really wants Grealish as he's a perfect fit into Levy's preferred transfer strategy of young and English.

Thing with Grealish is he will be competing with Eriksen for a starting place, not really with the others. But if Eriksen gets injured I'd expect Grealish to be the one starting.

For me our front three can be divided into three.

Son and Moura
Dele and Lamela
Eriksen and Grealish.

That looks a well rounded and talented six to me.

Would be a fucking stupid figure for a championship player.
This is a game that's played so regularly it's getting boring. When the player finally signs, AV claim the transfer fee is £30 million or so, which was "too good to refuse". The actual deal is probably £15 million, paid in stages, with £5 million if he gets to play for the England senior team, another £5 million if Spurs will the Champions League and another £5 million if he wins both the Euroxision Song Contest and the Nobel Peace Prize. Both Spurs and Villa reassure their fans that they got the better deal, and no-one is any the wiser. (It used to be far less fiun when we were a PLC and we had to release the actual figures to the City....)
