Someone on Reddit says his bio doesn’t say Aston Villa player anymore but can anyone confirm if it ever did? (It currently doesn’t)

Every other club makes transfers look easy, yet we always hear how difficult it is, hard times, agents playing games - more of the spin. Like that we’ll do signings early, have a special relationship with Madrid blah blah blah.

I don't think it's that much different for us then other clubs. I'm sure every club has their own transfer sagas.
Imagine being a united fan, they get linked to anybody and everybody. They have the means to sign most of them as well, so the fans must get hyped and disappointed more often than us.

Ah but they still manage a signing!
Personally speaking, i’m Happy with what we have. I’d like to see us go again, without a signing and stick it up to many of the clubs again, city and Liverpool look like they are going to run away with, honestly can you see us competing with them?

I know stranger things have happened... but don’t spin out the bullshit making out we are going for broke each year when we clearly aren’t.... I think that’s the frustrating part, how it’s created I have no idea and time will tell if anyone can make a difference too.

Just read through a whole bunch of pages and I am surprised at the judgment made on the basis of him playing in the championship, he is not a championship player and is not championship level he is Premier league level but stayed to help the club he loves. He could and should have been playing at the top level all along. This will be a very good signing.

Premier League yes but not in a CL club.

I cant stop thinking back to when we signed Sissoko. I was dead against it and a small part of it was because of the reaction from Newcastle fans. They were overjoyed to be rid of him.

Contrast that to Villa fans about Grealish and they are all gutted he’s going and saying he will be really good for us.

Its sometimes worth trusting fans who watch the player every week.

I think people should stop trying to read into player's Twitter and Insta profiles.

Grealish hasn't had villa on his profile 'bio' before, or at least certainly not for a few years.

That is quite a paradoxical post. Is he an inferior player, or is he worth so more than the supposed £25m that the bid is laughable?

It’s laughable we’ve been chasing a player from a broke Championship club all summer and still haven’t got it over the line. Put in a bid with 2 days to go that will be rejected. What have we been doing all summer?
Grealish may or may not turn out to be a good signing and he’ll be getting my full support. Can only see him making our bench at best.
The way we’ve gone about trying to improve our first team this summer has been laughable.

No question we need cover in midfield with the injury problems we have. At least Grealish is match fit and could do a job for the first few games. How good he is I have no idea but perhaps he will turn out to be a Dele kind of purchase rather than a VJ type

How do you know it'll be rejected?

Why do you believe the tabloids that it's £25m?

No offence, but it's posts like this that make it seem like you're looking for reasons to criticise the club, rather than giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Good news from Trix this morning so hopefully this is our first signing of the window!

This coming down to deadline day it's not that laughable from a business perspective.

we agree terms with the player, we have agreement with the agent he won't sign elsewhere. We give assurances we want him but need to do the finance side with villa.

Villa would to pimp him out but the agent does his/her job and ensures he's spurs focused (that's earning his fee from our side) and slowly the fee becomes realistic.

all normal business really, just frustrating for fans (and squad harmony)

This is retarded. Is this meant to be tactical?

The price has been somewhere between 25 and 30 for the entire bloody window. Why have we waited till now?

God this is annoying. We’ll end up paying somewhere between 28 and 30, which we could have done before the World Cup.

Shambles
You are forgetting that by waiting we actually had a significant option value, in that had the purchase/bailout of Villa not gone through they would have been desperate to raise funds and we might have got him for 20m, so potentially an 8-10m saving as the cost of a few weeks of him training with us. Sure, it didn't work out this time, but if your downside is limited then this is a financially rewarding strategy for the club.

How do any of us know how we have been going about our business? Signing no one so far looks strange from the outside but as fans of the club surely we can look at the evidence of the past decade and know that the people making the decisions have the best interests of the club driving their decision making.

We don't know how difficult the market has been, who's been messing us about, who we could have bought but didn't for various reasons. As none of this is in the public domain people can only guess.

We have a great squad of players that I think we should add to this summer but I will not be having a go at my club as that is for supporters of other teams.
