Ten little signings standin' in a line,
Fulham got promoted and then there were nine;

Nine little signings; wouldn't that be great?
Ed wouldn't swap one and then there were eight.

Eight little signings who might be Tottenham heav'n.
One stayed at Lyon and then there were seven;

Seven little signings all with flicks and tricks,
One got loaned to Chelsea and then there were six.

Six little signings surely all alive,
Zaha kicked the bucket and then there were five;

Five little signings; who could ask for more?
Dortmund wouldn't sell, so then there were four.

Four little signings not exactly free
One met Raiola and then there were three;

Three little signings; I suppose that would do.
One wasn't home grown and then there were two

Two little signings linked in the Sun,
One rumour got pooh-poohed and then there was one;

One little signing left, so Dan proposed a sum
Villa said 'fuck right off' and then there were none.

Well his brother is a pretty close source so no getting away from that. Looks like it is going to be squeaky bum time tomorrow.

Just looked at the brother's twitter.

He said the report was rubbish (I believe it's the one where he said he'd run his contract down which is pretty drastic), but nothing else. No 'he's staying' or anything like that.

My big worry with the lack of activity in the transfer window is how it will affect next season.
Put yourself in the shoes of any of Poch, Eriksen, Lloris, Verts, Alli or even Kane. What do you think they'll make of no new players coming in.
I know what I'd be thinking, 'we're going fkin nowhere here. We're never gonna win anything. I need a move.'
And Levys words will fall on deaf ears as they'll all have heard these hollow promises before.
If we fail to bring in any top players tomorow I think we may see a mass exodus end of next season.
What a disappointment. £150m to spend! What a load of shite that was. Cant even get a fkin championship player over the line.

Just reading a supposed ITK over on Villa Talk he posted this on Monday

"I’m told no official offer from Levy yet, they will bid officially on deadline day as he still thinks FFP could force our hand.
Shot himself in the foot though because our owners have told Jacks agent “we don’t need to sell anymore.”
It will come down to the offer (if it’s too good to turn down) and Jacks wishes as he’s agreed personal terms in principle with Spurs. This summer was the window for contract renegotiation but because of the situation we have not offered a deal yet so Jacks agent has shopped around as he’s supposed to do really. It’s our mess really.

However new owners have said they will offer a new contract after the window and would like to keep him.
We value around 35m they Value around 20m Friday will see if Levy is prepared to rise, if he does it I expect Jack to go.
Jacks been told by Southgate he needs PL football, signing on fee & contract offering to Jack has been sold as “you n your folks are made for life” and footballers have a short career they’re mindful that injury can ruin it all in an instant. Jack no doubt will have grown with kids that have had career ending injuries it’s too much to turn down.

In Jacks shoes you’ve got a 5 year deal of at least double your money and CL football plus he’s had assurances from Pochettino he will play plus England are keen on him moving to the PL.
or you have owners who’ve been there a week are saying they will offer a new deal in a few weeks time but all know the manager is on borrowed time. But you are a fan of the club.

What would you do?

Personally I’ll be gutted if he goes."

"I was originally, as early as this week I was told it’s still likely he’ll go. For weeks I’ve been told 99% likely he will go, it dropped to 90% when we got brought and 75% the start of this week.

I was told at the start of the week that Levy would bid on Deadline day as he thought FFP would force our hand. He bid yesterday £25m which we told him to double.

Levy said “no way”, we said “end of convo”. That’s right £50m, I was told it was over last night tbh.
Absolutely shocking from Levy who tried to low ball Xia. All he had to do was pay £25 4 weeks ago and it would have gone through within hours.

Jack is disappointed but not to the extent he’s distraught or will put in a transfer request.
Put yourself in his shoes, you’re told you have to be sold and then you pick your destination and harden your heart effectively say your goodbyes and then bang it all falls apart. He loves the Villa his family do to, but Spurs sold themselves to him, he met Pochettino was told he was very much in the first team picture. Offered double the wages, CL football and NT interest. It’s tumbled on all summer, they’ve been looking at houses etc a right faff."

Do you actually believe that? You came no where near the top, you haven't improved the squad, but as a 'rational' thinking adult you would back yourself to succeed.
