Danny Rose pretty much said that last year though and I get the feeling he wouldn't have been as brave to do so without a bit of locker room talk.

I think there was a cloud over us for a good few months over wages and ambition (the things Rose spoke of).

Well there it is, a villa fan and a villa itk telling us that it’s not the fault of anyone on our side of the table.

Can’t see this being resurrected. Levy holds a grudge.

Conveniently ignoring the part about Levy wanting to delay it until August, which was his decision apparently due to financial structure. Not to mention the fact that Trix has repeatedly said that everything was ready to go and we kept delaying,.

It's annoying when this happens isn't it? LOADS of people do it on here.

spread over the length of his contract. something like 5-8M a season . In footballing terms peanuts.
Plus his salary making more like 10-11m peanuts per year (abt 50m total) that we won't get back, as resale value has plummeted and sissoko ain't likely to leave except for the same or better deal on wages.

Welll there you go, the reason why we were delaying. There might have been a very good reason why we delayed till August, I doubt levy just though ‘fuck it, let’s delay for 6 weeks just for shits and giggles’.

I can see a future football quiz question coming from this

What took longer, building the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or the Jack Grealish saga?

You can't say for sure we won't get some back. Lets be fair to Sissoko, he has been a valued squad player and Poch has been using him especially in big games.

So even when it was down to us it's not our fault. Right you are

If the deal was agreed in principal between all parties (Spurs, Villa and Grealish) in June, then why did we wait until Monday 6th August to submit a formal bid?

IIf something goes wrong - as it has in this case - then you have very limited room for manoeuvre. I think the technical term is "backfired"...

I know the odds don’t mean anything really BUT there has been a swing in the odds as last night he was out at 4-1 to join and now he’s odds on to join at 1.7-1

Like I said probably means fuck all but you never know ??

Just going on what the villa itk posted, he certainly has no reason to defend levy. But why let black and white get in the way of a good agenda eh? ;)

It's there in black and white that Levy delayed the deal when everything was agreed (which Trix has repeatedly backed up). Yes the new owners then started playing silly buggers but that is the risk you take when you constantly dither and leave things to the last moment. You see it as me having an agenda but for me it's like trying to argue with a religious fanatic who cannot countenance any criticism of their god. For the record I think Levy overall has done a great job but he certainly should not be beyond criticism and I think in this instance, and in this transfer windon in general, it is entirely justified.
