Because Levy has to bleed every single penny out of every single deal? I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if was to save a month's wages

Seriously? For starters, ITK yesterday said that the deal didn't go through during the Villa buyout because of issues at their end. Nothing to do with Levy wanting to delay or drive the price down. It seems the deal had been agreed, the player had been promised it would happen, but the new owners have decided to move the goalposts. That's hardly Levy's fault.

Lot of respect for how Grealish has handled the situation, shown great professionalism and loyalty to his club even at the detriment of his own ambitions*.

They have fucked up any potential dealings with us certainly for the near future
Now watch Poch turn Onomah into a better player

It's only 11:30

Plenty of time for both sides to come in by a million. They are going to lose a lot more than that if they don't sell

You have to feel for Grealish here, he has been the definition of professional throughout this whole thing.

He won't get Champions League football or a national call up at Villa.

To be fair on this one it appears we have bid a reasonable price for the player. Not much we can do if Villa want a stupid fee for him. Would people really want us paying £35 million plus for a player who has only had a handful of decent matches in the premiership and half a good season in the championship.?

Given that he'll be worth £50M+ in 12 months if he comes to us and has a semi-decent season while the market rates keep rocketing?

Yes.

@wpd659 i said IF, honestly untwist your knickers. Talking about the deal braking down in the Grielish thread about Grielish is not spam.

I really wanted Grealish so i'm gutted about this. He had Spurs written all over him - young, English, tons of natural ability. Genuinely think Poch could've turned him into a superstar.

Completly agree and so did Poch and the backroom staff.

We got played by Villa I think. We spent a load of time trying to get a deal done and Villa just laughed at us and shut the door. Levy got Levy'd badly! Oh well, maybe people are starting to finally realise how to play him at his own game.

Clearly was not Levy so hence the spam. Has been confirmed mulitple times.

The below from the Journalist didn't confirm this which is what i was basing it on, pinch of salt which is why i said if, disagree all you want, but my post wasn't spam.

I'm going to give a mini round-up of what I know as there is a lot of rubbish being posted by the media and on social media.
In June spurs contacted villa. A fee around 25 million was informally discussed and suggested by Villa but NO fee or anything was agreed on. Tottenham were given permission to talk to Jack. Deal with Jack was agreed in principal. Over to his agent. His agent has been in regular contact with both Tottenham and Villa providing updates. Its his job to broker the deal. Last month Tottenham's original offer was around 18 million with add ins up to 25.
Everyone including Steve was aware that he would be off. An agreement was had at 22million plus add ons. I wont bore you with the ins and outs of the add ins.
Player contracts done. Agreement in place with Villa hierarchy.
Just waiting on green light. On Monday I think I posted about Levy wanting to wait until August. That was Levys decision again something to do with financial structure.
On Monday at 10:24 (Yes exact time) tottenham called it through.

A discussion was had and it was agreed that Jack would play against Hull as preparations had been made.
On Tuesday the story hit the media that a 25 million deal had finally been agreed.
The paperwork was done, just needed to be signed off by the owners.
The new owners rebuffed and said they don't want to sell ......
With all due respect to the owners they like many non football people do not understand the FFP rules. As a result villa have also had to wait and have lost out on players because they have no money.
The agent is still trying to push the deal through. Only contact atm is through him. I think Jack will put a transfer request in. He is desperate to play for England and see MP as the man to get him there.
The problem is rich non footballing men not understanding trying to show their power. But they need to understand for villas sake too.

Yes.

What if he doesn’t have a semi decent 12 month and he struggles to get into our team or even into the match day squad then what? We will be stuck with a squad player who we have taken a gamble on and over paid for who we may very well struggle to sell on as a Levy won’t want to look a fool and admit he over spent on.
