Is it possible Sancho and sessognon would block each other's way in to the team? Sessegnon sounds like more of a winger long term and Sancho seems to be the same position.

Possibly, but let's not forget that Rose was a winger until he was about 20, so if he looks more like a winger at the moment then if there is one manager who can help him become a better left back then it's definitely poch.

I had just seen it mentioned about Sessegnon, I really haven't seen enough of either to judge.

Agreed. Everyone seems to think he is destined to play up front and be the 2nd coming of Bale if he comes to us, but if he is an excellent wing back then he could potentially be even more important to the team. Another attacker who can defend is excellent.

I think that was the consensus until yesterday, it seems something has changed.
Could be possible that he has no guarantees seen as Arsenal have about 600 midfielders and ams. Could also be worried about Wenger possibly finishing in two years's time. Poch could give him a lot of assurances.

Spurs move for Sancho

Tottenham are ready to test Manchester City’s resolve to hang onto Jadon Sancho with a £3m bid.

Spurs are poised to make a push for the City wonder kid before the transfer window closes next week.

Exciting England under-17 forward Sancho wants to quit the Etihad due to concerns about his prospects of first team football.

City have tried and failed to persuade Sancho, player of the tournament at the under-17 Euros this summer, to sign a new deal.

He has a year left on his scholarship and will be free to leave for a small training compensation fee next summer.

But Spurs want to leap to the front of the queue to sign Sancho by doing a deal now and are optimistic of their chances.

Arsenal, Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on Sancho, 17.

Spurs hope the prospect of securing a bigger fee now might tempt City as they are facing a losing battle to keep Sancho.

Spurs have already seen an attempt to include him in the deal that saw Kyle Walker head to City from Spurs rebuffed.

Man City really need £3m quid don't they.

Maybe they put the kid's welfare 1st and take the nominal fee as a good gesture.

You'd hope, wherever he goes
Indeed. I suspect this only works if City are fully convinced that relationship is broken. Normally I'd expect them to demand a buy back clause but only lower table and league teams would go for that but doubt they will spend much on a youth prospect. He doesn't want to leave london so that also complicates teams which will provide a sell on clause but City may hold out for one.

Add a couple of Wikipedia quotes and the rest is straight out of this thread......

I'm not quite sure who deserves air less, journos or agents :cautious:

Struggle to see how this happens now as opposed to next summer. Why would they allow him to leave now for a meager fee that does nothing for them and allow Sancho to come here and get acclimated to our style of play sooner rather than later? Man City would just let him rot because they can and not offer any favors to a side that is a direct rival. As awful as that sounds, that can't surprise anyone.

I would expect us to do exactly the same. The moment to get him would have been as part of the walker deal

If we insisted on him being included it would have happened

If all we get before end of window is Barkley then I think Sancho and Edwards would both have a huge chance of getting PL minutes from bench. Surely both would fancy their chances of getting ahead of Sissoko.

Who is the best prospect out of
1 ) Angel Gomes
2) Jadon Sancho
3) Marcus Edwards

Not easy to say. The younger player from other club always looks better. At the sane age or point in their career they were at least equal. Edwards is special and if he was signed by another club would be a lot closer to their first team. As he is here, small and injured recently he seems to have gone down in people's estimation.

Sancho, is built for first team football now so probably looks more ready and has all the flair so looks mire impressive. Either way having both is great for us. Edwards wriggly and excellent vision and passing, Sancho dribbling flair and composure.

Gomes is also quality. To argue who from that age group is the best is impossible.

I've said in the youth thread that in an attack of CHO(who I want here), Foden, Gomes or Sancho you'd be splitting hairs over who is the best. And there are others I'd expect to come through and could be just as dangerous.

Similarly in that age group many youth watchers argue TOB is one of the most important players not withstanding the other midfielders and defence. Sessegnon atm being at Fulham has had the most exposure, and I expect the same will happen with O'Riley this season.

Point I'm making no point trying to guess or rank them. If they go into that u18 team as a starter they're all equals and finding out how they develop is exciting.

Sancho will more than make up for loss of Kirby who was also quality as we have plenty of CMs and no wingers. England are currently producing the best talent if we continue to produce the best and add the finest where we're weak and Di the unimaginable and actually being em through, we'd be very strong in the future
