Jack Pitt-Brooke is a pretty well-regarded journalist, can't imagine that he would just make it up. Also he's a Man City fan so may have some inside knowledge.

That being said, can't imagine he would come to us. We wouldn't be in his league for wages. May join the exodus abroad - can see a German club taking him or something.

Yup, smacks of a Red Bull team this one - if he leaves...

But I'd be happy with Edwards, Sancho and GKN as wild card attacking options if it came down to it. All have potential to be special.

@Breezer - any idea what kind of wages Edwards is on? Think we'd be getting ourselves in hot water if we offer this guy much more than that...

Seems to be gathering pace, the kid seems like he's got his head screwed on wanting first team assurances rather than money.

I think we have a very good chance if he decides not to renew, he should only look at Alli to see he'd be given opportunities.

This seems an easy one to judge. If he comes to us it means his head is in the right place and he's a brilliant talent with a great future. If he stays at City it means he only cares about money and he's a crap player. If he goes to arse it means he's a ****waffle.

Doubt we'd guarantee too much in the way of first team chances, we've still quite a few am's already, granted some may leave, and Edwards who is older and only made 1 brief appearance, his injuries have to taken into account obviously, plus we're looking to add Barkley, as well as onomah being played as an am by poch

To make it worthwhile imo we'd need to shift both gkn and sissoko, add Barkley and take a leap of faith with both him and Edwards, which personally I'd be happy with but I doubt many would

I've also heard from a Man City supporting mate that Sancho is an Arsenal fan but fact is, if he looked at their record for playing young players and then looked at ours, it's really no contest.

Yes! But that's not really for forum chat. I can tell you he didn't travel to USA with the squad because he's only just finished with England plus negotiations ongoing over a new contract which are currently not agreed and may take a while.

What the hell! this can't be right.....surely??

I know, I don't really understand it to be honest.

It does say at the bottom:

"The top six teams in the league - Chelsea, Tottenham, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and United - all finished in the bottom eight in terms of minutes played by UK-developed players."

Which I was surprised at but then thought about it and Kane was out injured a fair bit, Dier doesn't count, Dele, Walker, Rose and Davies would be the only other contributors and I'm not sure if Dele counts as he's u21?

Would be a strange move for a young kid to sign for Arsene Wenger given he'll only be at Arsenal for maximum 2 years.

Fair enough mate, hope the Edwards stuff is tied up quickly!

I think it's our own academy graduates winks, onomah etc

Edit: after reading it again it doesn't seem that clear which way they mean it

I guess it didn't help that Winks got injured as well.

Either way I'm not buying it. This article is BS. I can't prove why it's BS so I'm just gonna be really arrogant about it and stick to my original point :woot:
